One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

JOURNAL

Today I’ve been. . .

16 Comments 1639 views

. . . a caregiver to my little man. He hasn’t been been feeling well so we camped out at home all day.

. . . a bottomless pit. Note sure what’s up with me the last couple of days. I swear I could just eat and eat and eat and it has nothing to do with hunger. It’s just a desire to consume even when I’m quite full.

. . . an Ikea assembler. Putting together 4 pieces of furniture for the new house. This one by far my favorite…

my ikea book shelf

. . . a home cook. Making homemade meatballs and big ole’ pot of sauce.

. . . a host. My close friends made it down to check out the new house! YAY!

. . . a motivator. Challenging my fellow BlogToLoser’s to stay concious through the holiday week.

. . . Relaxing. I took a bath, cuddled with the boy, watched a movie with the husband. It has been a wonderful day. :)

I hope your little guy is feeling better. A hot bath and epsom salt have been my thing this week – I started The 30 Day Shred and have been very sore. Thank goodness for a hot bath…:-) Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

What a day! I can totally relate to the first two — the sick little one and the bottomless pit. Those sound like my WEEK! Hope yours snaps out of it faster than mine did.

I have been in those bottomless pit stages before. Just be careful it doesn’t get out of hand…but stress could be a big part since you have been extremely busy.

Anyway, I also am a huge fan of IKEA. I need to make a trip there for a new coffee table….

I’ve been wanting to be a bottemless pit today again. Didn’t do so well yesterday. Need to mark on my calendar when this happens. I’m sure it coincide with something. Went spinning to try not to do that again today! Hope your little one feels better.

I feel like we are on the same wavelength….when you blog that you are cranky, I am cranky…when you can’t stop eating just to eat, I am going through the same thing!
I feel very helpless sometimes when I can’t seem to eat enough!

That’s so crazy, I have been a bottomless pit for exactly two days as well! I had been eating amazingly healthfully for a while, but then today and yesterday were absolutely ridiculous. Actually, beyond ridiculous. Roni, what do you do to get out of eating this way? How do you change this before it becomes a habit? Do you ever feel like you have to do something to “reverse” the damage you’ve done? That’s where I am right now. I will NOT make this a habit! But instead of eating healthfully tomorrow, I want to fast/detox because I feel like I’ve done so much damage. Blah. Hate this feeling!

hey roni! i have those shelves too! i bought a bunch of canvas bins at target in cream, red and light green… i put it in my basement to hold my kids’ 10000 toys. :) it is the BEST – if it gets scratched, i just use a sharpie to cover it up! enjoy – great purchase.

Mattison – Don’t do it!! Out of all the things I learned these past couple of years dropping that mentality has been one of the most important.

what do you do to get out of eating this way?

I don’t beat myself up! I simply prepare for the next day the best I can.

How do you change this before it becomes a habit?

I know from experience that this feeling will pass. Even though I feel out of control I’m still making good decisions… making my own pizze vs. ordering. Choosing egg white omelet over a regular. These little things add up and these decisions are no healthy habits. I won’t lose them just because I ate a few extra calories for a couple of days.

Do you ever feel like you have to do something to “reverse” the damage you’ve done?

YES! I feel it but I don’t act on it anymore. I simply make my next choice a better. It’s all about balance. It’s NOT about perfect. Fasting will not undo anything it will only perpetrate the yo yo cycle.

    Blah. Hate this feeling!

    SO DO I! :)
