Product Review: Beyond Yoga

A few weeks ago Jodi from IamBeyond.com asked if I’d be willing to try out some Beyond Yoga clothes to review for the site. Honestly, I was a little hesitant. Especially when I saw the price tag on some of the items. I’m just not the kind of person that spends 80 bucks on a pair of pants. And I’m talking jeans or dress pants. Yoga pants?? You’ve got to be kidding.

But I agreed and a few days later I received my pair of lagoon blue yoga pants and grey straight back cami (both pictured above). I was immediately impressed by the feel of the clothes. They were soft, luxurious and when I put them on, snug without being constrictive.

Since I received them I’ve worn them to the gym, to the movies, and even on my recent trip to California (totally awesome for long plane rides). Besides the feel of the clothes I’m most impressed by the supportive nature of the material. This cami has been the ONLY tank I’ve been able to wear bra-less with complete confidence. Seriously… I always thought those build in bra tops were a joke. I still always wore a bra with them anyway (I can’t be the only one!) but this one delivered, at least for me. I realize not all women are ummmmm “created equal” in that department. ;~P

Overall I’m quite impressed with the clothes. They have a great selection and I can’t see how any of their other pieces wouldn’t be of the same quality.

Any Beyond Yoga fans out there? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

If you are interested in trying any Beyond Yoga items for yourself be sure to use the promotion code RONI30 for 30% off your order at Beyond Yoga. It’s good until January 7, 2010.

Full Disclosure: Beyond Yoga shipped the clothes free of charge to me to try and I negotiated a discount for the readers of Roni’s Weigh. I have no relationship with Beyond Yoga and I was not paid for this review. (I will be putting disclosure statements like this on all future reviews due to the new regulations).

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

From the girl who wears Target and Old Navy yoga clothes, I get what you’re saying about the $80 pants. However, having tried on a few (not bought them, mind you) pairs and tops lately, I have to say I do notice a difference and I have to think I would definitely notice it in my practice. 30% off is a nice discount– so good of you to always negotiate that into your deal! :)

    Hope you’re feeling better, Roni!

I’m with you on ng id of money. I don’t even spend that on nice clothes.

And the shelf bra thing is so right. I always wear my regular bra because I have a bit on top that a thin piece of fabric can not contain.

I might have to check out the website and see if I can get one of those tanks based on your recommendation with the discount.

Can I get that body to go with the pants??? LOL!

The price is steep, but they sound really comfy! Might be a nice gift for someone.

Interesting. I snapped up a pair of expensive yoga pants on clearance by a company called Moving Comfort. I found them for $9 at T.J. Maxx, and immediately they became my favorite workout pants. I looked up the company online to buy another couple pairs, and to my amazement they were $60 a pair! Obviously I didn’t buy any. I will, however, be putting them on my Christmas and birthday lists from now on! Maybe I’ll have to give Beyond Yoga a try, as well, since obviously quality does make a difference.

I consider built in bras to be my excuse not to wear TWO sports bras :)

I heard of lululemon and they seem just as expensive, but like your review, I am told that they are awesome. So now Ihave to decide on which expensive work out clothes I should buy!

Wow. Those look really good. I bet they feel good to wear, too. I wish I had the cash to buy those pants. Maybe in a few months when I finally get employed. I seriously haven’t found good yoga pants here where I live. I have been using uncomfortable cycling shorts that cut off my waist. And I haven’t gotten around to sewing my own. It’s sad.

Do the pant sizes run small, large, about normal? I’m always hesitant to buy clothes online, even if they are just workout pants. I’ve heard they’re awesome!

I’d say normal or even a little big. She sent me a small and normally take a medium in pants but these fit great! I think it’s the material.

I LOVE my beyond yoga pants– I have 3 pairs– all bought on sale. Now that you have negotiated this deal, I might have to go for a 4th. I live in these at home and I practice yoga in them too, so a 4th pair are not unreasonable. I have pRana yoga pants, but those are not nearly as comfortable/soft.
