Weekend Quote: Positive Attitude
October 3, 2009
I’ve been feeling a little bleh these past couple of days. Too much to do. Not enough time. Yada yada yada. You all know the situation as you are probably in it as well.
Then this morning, as I was trying to muster up enough energy to start the day, I caught @angiealltheway’s awesome picture on Twitter. It totally gave me a boost!

I truly believe feelings are contagious. Think about the last time you were around a depressed person. Didn’t you feel drained? Afraid to talk about anything? Don’t you start to withdraw as well? I know I do.
So when I saw this message I was reminded how important it is to me to not only be positive but to help others be positive as well.
It’s not easy but sometimes making a decision to be happy is the first step to actually getting there. Sometimes you really have to fake it till you make it! :)
side note: More about my crazy weekend tomorrow. Today I made some progress on the kitchen and my bedroom. I’m getting there!

Roni, I’m so excited that my “little tweet” had such a positive impact on your choice for a positive and productive day! I knew that it felt great to tweet that positive message out “randomly” but when you see the immediate positive impact on others there’s no question that my day was started on the right foot too. What a beautiful day it ended up to be :-) I’m going to find a way to incorporate that picture on my blog so that I see it every day!
(I’m STILL trying to get things organized and settled into our new home and we moved at the end of June!)

I’m a strong believer in the “fake it until you make it” idea! I often find myself “faking” happiness at work because I have other things on my mind and before you know it – I AM happy! :) The mind is a powerful thing!!

Actually going and smiling at yourself in the mirror can work wonders on one’s attitude…

Very true. Great quote. It really is a choice to think positive and to try not to sink into depression. Daily exercise helps too…:-) Hope you are having a nice weekend!

I love that idea. I’ve been really drained by people and things in my life lately and I just need to keep positive. Thanks for the quote :-)

I totally agree that feelings are contagious. We all to some degree feed off of other people’s energy. Happiness breeds happiness and misery breeds misery. So I try to stay happy and surround myself with the same. :)
Roni, btw, I miss you! I still think about some things you said at BlogHer. Parts of your wisdom are permanently stuck in my head. :)
