One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

A Good Night Sleep a New Home Gym and POMEGRANATES!

I’ve been keeping a couple of secrets from you. And ya’ll know how bad I am with secrets. I swear the only reason I didn’t slip with these was my crazy busy schedule these last few weeks.

I was going to tell you last night but I crashed. After work I made a quick dinner up (Mexican Skillet Pasta – Can’t wait to post on GreenLiteBites!) while hubby tried to fix our broken TV. I swear, it’s always one thing or another, right?

After dinner we played an awesome game of Hide and Seek with the little guy. Listen… you NEVER get old for a game of Hide and Seek. It’s even more fun now that the toddler isn’t really a toddler anymore and sort of gets it. Seriously, it was a blast!

Soon it was time for Scooby before bed. So the little guy got his PJs on and we cuddled in our room since the down stairs TV is out. By this time I was falling asleep and it was only 8PM. By 8:30 I was reading him a story and my eyes were closing. So I decided to go with it and just chill upstairs. Well, I was out like a light in minutes. Next thing I know it’s 4:30AM. I snuck in another 2 hours of sleep and here I am now, bright eyed and busy tailed! I haven’t slept that long is YEARS!

Ok, on to these secrets…

First, in the next couple of weeks I’m going to be reviewing the Total Home Gym XLS. Now this is a funny story of good and bad timing all wrapped up into one. Now you all know we were in the tiny apartment while we waited for our new house to be built, right? Well the day we moved I get an email from Evan asking if I’d like to try the home gym out in my home, free for 30 days. My first response was "I don’t have time or room for this right now!" then I realized I was going to have room soon enough and if he was willing to let me wait a couple of weeks before reviewing it would be worth it since I haven’t had any time to hit the gym since moving and starting my new job. So I explained my situation and they shipped me the gym! How cool is that!?

I was holding off trying it until post marathon as I didn’t want to start a new training routine before I attempted 26 miles. But now that that’s behind me I’m planning on incorporating a few routines on the gym this week and I’ll be back with a full report for you guys. I’m excited as I haven’t done ANY strength training in months!

Ok, Second secret and then I got to get ready for work…

Next week I’m going to California to see the Pomegranate harvest at the POM farm and factory. I’m SO excited as I LOVE pomegranates and so does the little guy. I swear he’s more excited then I am and he’s not even going. :(

I was invited by POM and I know a handful of the other bloggers that were as well. I’ll post more about it as I get ready to go on Monday. I’m taking my personal days at work so I can attend the event. I don’t know when I’d get this kind of opportunity again so I figured it was worth it. I mean I don’t even know how pomegrantes grow, on trees? bushes? How do they get all that juice out of those little arials? Curious minds want to know!

Ok, now I REALLY got to go. I have a big day at work today. I just wanted to fill you in on what was going on. I hope to get that recipe up on GreenLiteBites tonight. Until then… have a WONDERFUL day!

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Wow!!! That machine costs about 4 years of membership at my last gym and 15x more than P90X. Scary…

I totally hear you it’s pricey but man, I have to say you have the cheapest gym ever! LOL wow!

That’s great, Roni! Maybe they’ll let you keep it after you’re done, and they’re not telling you yet. One can hope. :)

Have fun at the POM harvest! What a great experience!

That’s awesome, Roni! I’m so excited for you!!

Yay, Roni! Sleep is good, gym equipment is fun and a trip to Cali is the best! Can’t wait to hear all about it!

Yes, the gym is costly. However, how can you beat 4 years of working out in your own house? Are you really going to want to do P90X for the next 4 years straight? (I have P90X and love it, but won’t be doing it for 4 years straight)….the awesome thing about this machine (or any other investment – we have a stationary bike ($900), a treadmill ($700), and a pretty extensive weight set at home ($1400)), is that you can use it like crazy, enjoy the perks of having it right in your home, then sell it on Craigslist for a few hundred dollars when you are done. Not a bad deal….well worth the initial upfront investment. We aren’t rich either…my husband and I have a joint income of about $60K a year….if we can do it, anyone can.

Feel free to quote me in your review, Roni. =) =)

How nice of you to be able to try out a home gym. I wish I had the space for it sometimes. I make do with my little hand weights, stability ball and yoga stuff.

Pomms remind me of my youth when I ate them with my grandma. Such fun memories. It’s really cute that your son loves them too :-)
