Note to Self..

Date August 30, 2009

You do not HAVE to be the garbage disposal. Just because the husband and the kid didn’t finish their lunch/diners/desserts/whatever does not mean you have to.

Now… do what you can to prepare for the week and get day 1 of that challenge underway while watching Mad Men! :)

  1. I think we all need this little note to ourselves sometimes! I know that’s my biggest downfall right now… picking up the little bits that my daughter doesn’t finish off!

  2. I love Mad Men! My husband and I just finished the second season on DVD….like 5 minutes ago!!!

  3. Your note to self is a note I make to myself quite frequently. I forget easily.

  4. I am so making my own note to self after reading yours. Thanks! :D

  5. I can sure relate!

Good luck with planning for your week and the challenge!

  6. Ditto.

  7. Gahh! THis is my worst habit ever. I have such an ingrained ‘Waste not, want not” mentality that I think I am doing good while in the act of finishing things off. This is one area of life where ‘Waste not, want not SHOULD NOT be applied!

  8. I do this all the time. I am not a garbage disposal - I need to remember that.

  9. I wonder if putting a mirror at the table would help. I caught my husband grabbing at the kids’ leftovers and the look on his face… “wee! free food!” If you want to eat it, make your own plate with it. Otherwise, hands off!

  10. 100% agree. I have a problem with having to finish everything on my plate AND stuff off other people’s plate too. I just hate wasting food. Now, if it is healthy stuff, I save it in the fridge or else I just dump it.

  11. I used to do that all the time! I couldn’t believe how much weight I lost by not eating their leftovers!
