Note to Self…
August 4, 2009
You AREN’T HUNGRY… you are just looking for a snack while watching TV. Yesterday it was the dreaded dorritos.. the day before the cinnamon fish. It’s not that you can’t have these things it’s just that you are only eating out of habit. Break the pattern. Eat when hungry not when bored/sad/happy/stressed/whatever. Let’s get back to the basics. No more using stress as an excuse. K?

Very good point! I was a stress eater, an “eat when I’m bored” eater, an anger eater, a sad eater. Well, you get the picture. I used any emotion to overeat.
It was a hard habit to conquer, that’s for sure.

I hear ya. I usually watch TV when my daughter goes to bed. I find myself thinking about food the minute I sit down on the couch! Yikes! All those years of snacking have made this the hardest habit to break. BE STRONG!!!

I hear ya. I’ve struggled the past day & a half (back to work stress after vacation) I still tracked what I ate, even if not how much, and walked 30 min this morning. I cannot let my accomplishment of a 26 lb loss (so far) go away to a bad mood.

This was me yesterday. I was eating out of stress and couldn’t stop. I finally had to go to bed early to stop eating. Somedays I just need this reminder.

ha… this is the story of my life with nursing school. Towards the end of the semester I started studying on the elliptical so I wouldn’t eat. It actually helped! I’m such a stress eater

Last night, before I knew it, I’d inhaled around 400 calories of trail mix. It happened so fast! Hang in there, Roni!

I completely understand the compulsion for the munchies. I know you can’t do this, with the toddler and all, but I removed all food from my house. I can’t eat what isn’t there. Now I have to go out and get what I want and I am surely not going to do that at 8, 9, or 10 at night. It helps me so much. You might consider setting the kitchen off limits after a certain time at night - simply pretend it does not exist for you.
