I’m a Lose-r for Good with a Giveaway!

I am HORRIBLE at keeping secrets. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. So when Weight Watchers invited me to Los Angeles to the Lose for Good kick off event under the stipulation that I had to keep it secret until this week, I freaked. I mean seriously. How am I, the girl who gave her boyfriend (now the husband) his one year Anniversary gift a week early because she was so excited or the mom who wants to give her son each and every one of his Christmas presents as she buys them, suppose to keep wraps on an amazing trip to L.A. Where she was going to meet Jenny McCarthy, hang out with FaintStarLite AND have dinner with the CEO of Weight Watchers a secret?
Yeah… needless to say I slipped up a few times. :)
Thankfully now I have the green light to talk about anything from the trip. So let me let Jenny do what she does and fill you in on the campaign…
As for the actual trip. I had a BLAST. It was rough now that I have a job (red eye flight and straight into the office) but I had some RR time there and met the most amazing bloggers.

My favorite part of the whole trip was watching the kids plant in the garden and learn about fresh foods. Something I’m super passionate about. You know, the whole GreenLiteBites thing and all. :)

Roni - I found your site by accident back in February and have been an avid reader all along. I picked up a Nike plus and started doing WW on my own - not going to meetings or anything. I found a couple of calculators and used Excel for keeping track of my points. I have heard that nothing beats being accountable to someone else though, and would love giving an official WW membership a shot.

i want to nominate my sister Erin who is trying to lose weight after having a baby almost a year ago. she has had a really trying year, her baby has digorge syndrome and so she has spent many days, hours, and weeks by her baby’s side in hospital rooms. The baby is doing better but she still has some trouble that may be with her for a lifetime but my very brave sister has been so solid and brave that she is an inspiration to our family. I am so proud of her for being such a devoted wife and mother. I know this would help her to spend a little time taking care of herself and help her shed her baby weight.

I totally found your site this week. I had gastric bypass in 2005 and lost over 100 pounds. Now that the magic bewitching hour is over…6 months to 18 months of loosing weight is over, I find myself gaining weight. I have gained back almost 30 pounds since December due to new medication.
So, I thought, let’s see what google can find for me to help jump start me into action to loose weight the WWP way. It lead me to your amazing blog and WWP calculator. I started on Friday, without a calculator and over the weekend lost 1/2 pound. Then I started yesterday (Mon. 8/31) with the calculator. What a revealation.
I am 50 years old as of 8/16/09 (woo hoo) and 5′ 0″ tall and weighed in at 210. Did the how many points per day on the other calculator and can have 24 points a day. Of course, I did this after eating 4 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups for a morning snack…bad start to my day. Realized that I had just eaten 9.5 points in that one section of time!!! Oh my, do I need help.
Today, I started out much better and am calculating each item even contemplating going in my mouth. Lunch was going to be a mini-sub sandwich from Oscar Myer…calculation 9.5 points. Choose instead a Health Choice Mix-it meal that was 4 points less for 5.5 points and allowed me a little cheat fix of Brussels cookie for 2.2 points. That still kept me under the 9.5 with just the sandwich.
This is an exciting learning experience for me. My sister did very well on Weight Watchers and so that’s why I decided to go this route.
I would love to be included in the drawing on 9/6/09 for membership from the contest going on.
I just want to thank you for you insight weight loss and for your GreenLiteBites Blog too. There are some very good looking recipes on there that I will be trying as I go along on this journey. You are an inspiration!
