I’m Trying…. HARD

20 Comments 1905 views

*sigh* I’m EXHAUSTED and it’s only Monday. That’s never a good sign. I was planning on posting yesterday about my Sensational Sunday but after I wrote about making my first crazy meal in the new kitchen I totally ran out of steam.

So let me recap…

Sunday started with a 9 mile training run. I needed it. I have totally lost my running groove with this move and new job but I have committed to my weekend long runs. Those are non-negatiable. Especially if I’m going to be ready for the marathon in October. This one was surprising easy. "Easy" as in I wanted to do. I looked forward to it and I enjoyed taking that time for myself.

After the run, the boy and I walked to a new grocery store and stocked up for the week. Well that’s an overstatement. I can’t really "stock up" as I have NO room so we just bought what we needed for the week. Boy how I miss my pantry, my island, counter space and my gas stove! I know, I know, I’m totally kitchen spoiled!

Anyway, once we were done and the groceries were away it was off to the movies. The husband had some work to do so it was just the two of us watching Ice Age III. It had Dinosaurs in so all were smitten. :)

The rest of the evening was a blur as I made dinner, cleaned up, packed lunches and got prepared for the week. Pretty much the same thing I did tonight. That’s where the "trying" comes in.

I’ve been feeling a bit out of my element in this tiny apartment with most of my stuff boxed or in piles. I can never find anything when I need it. The house never looks clean. I don’t even have a place to unwind.

But I’m trying. The way I figure it, the only way to stay sane is to be as prepared as possible. Making lunches, planning dinners, being prepared for the next morning before going to bed. If I don’t do that I’m lost and I feel totally out of control. I’m amazed at how taking 10 minutes the night before can not only save me more time in the morning but keep me slightly more sane.

That being said, I’m signing off to get myself ready. I have a 3 mile run scheduled and I really want to try to get it in tomorrow morning before I start the day. I need to charge the ipod and I’m thinking of just sleeping in my running clothes to save some time.

Then I’m going to relax, pop some popcorn and watch the end of Amityville Horror on AMC. I’ve seen it a billion times but you guys should know by now I’m a sucker for the horror flicks. :)

Oh! and here’s a quick house update… I stopped by after work today…

I love that your new house’s garage door doesn’t face the street! I hate when the majority of the house that’s seen is the garage door. Can’t wait to see the finished home.

Anyway….you’ll get back into your groove soon! Plus it’s not that long until you’ll be able to move into your “real home”.

    Enjoy!

remember there’s an end. let go of past expectations, make due with what you have, and remember to exercise.

im guessing you didnt get the vaulted foyer and opted for the 3rd bedroom over the entry way.

OMG the house is coming along so quickly!!!! Change is so hard, no matter what the change is, and moving is one of the hardest! It’s ok to be exhausted :)

Good luck with your 9 mile training run! I wish I enjoyed running, but I don’t. I have to find my exercise in other areas.

You have lots going on right now, so it’s understandable how exhausted you are feeling :( Hang in there!

    The house is looking great!

WOW! Your house is coming along wonderfully! How exciting for you. I can understand how being in limbo right now would be very frustrating, though…

Hi Roni – thanks for your encouragement the other week. I started WW today.

We moved to our dream home last year, so I wanted to give back some encouragement and tell you that while it’s a long process, it all gets done and you just have to get used to some chaos – and many boxes – in the short term. You are doing the right thing by just focusing on preparing healthy meals and exercising. Everything else can wait/will get done in time.

The new place looks great! Hang in there. Keep running.

Keep plodding along and I’m sure this apartment craziness thing will be over before you know it. :)

I can see how you are exhausted – you do so much!! Keep going and soon the craziness will die down. You will move into your new house, run the marathon, things will be worth it!

was ice age good? I want to go see it but after being disappointed with pixars newest flick “up” I really can’t handle another lame animated film =D

Sounds like you are handling things well. Great job on continuing to plan and staying on top of things. Good for you! Love the house!

Jenna – At first Ice Age was lame then it picked up a bit. I really enjoyed the last hour. The child liked it for the pure fact there were dinosaurs! :)

Then again… you may not want to listen to me as I liked UP. I don’t think it was pixars best but I enjoyed it.

    Roni!

I have ZERO sympathy for you feeling unsettled in your temp apartment because look at the AMAZING brand new house you are getting! :)

Okay, okay, I know where you are coming from. But still! Holy moly that looks spacious! I’m sure that construction crew can’t be ready soon enough for you!

the little one will enjoy it. Bless ya! And you know I jest about having no sympathy!. :)

I used to live near the Amityville Horror House…it’s really quite nice now. You’d never know it had a “past”.
Good luck staying strong. I know it’s rough, and I’ve only just begun the journey. When you feel overwhelmed pick one thing to do and start there. Don’t think about all of it!
