One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Headed to the Beach!!

Vacation time! Whooo Hoooo! I’m so looking forward to this. I was considering taking my laptop and then I slapped myself silly and came to my senses. I WILL NOT BE WORKING ON VACATION. It’s as easy as that. I want to soak up the rays, build sand castles, walk the boardwalk, ride rides, play games and just be.

Wow… I just realized food did not go in my list of vacation things. *hmph* maybe food really doesn’t have the same control it used to over me? Has this journey brought me to a new stage? A place where I maybe I have a normal relationship with food? Not that I don’t go nuts with the dorritos and ice cream from time to time. But overall I’m not preoccupied with food the way I used to be.

I have no doubt a few years ago the only thing I would have been focussing on about this vacation is the ice cream, pizza and bagels. I would have been obsessing on how I’d stay on plan with everything I wanted to eat. Now I know I’ll enjoy myself, stay active and make good choices. I’m not going to NOT eat what I want to but what I want to (surprisingly) isn’t hordes of food anymore.

I’m surprising myself here but I’m sure you are tired of these little self realization discoveries that seem to come out when I’m writing. I’ll stop now. :)

So last year I had time to record a few videos and even craft a question of the week before heading out…

Summer 2008 Vacation Post

This year I haven’t even had time to breath let alone pre-plan posts! Ahh to be a full time blogger again. ;~P

Anyway, I will be tweeting and I found a plugin that will post my tweet to the blog every evening. So expect some fun updates while I’m gone. Just keep in mind it will be a one way street as I won’t have time or the means to respond while away.

OK, I’m off… I have a few more things to finish up on the ‘to do’ before heading on the road. Then I’m shutting off the computer and not looking back. Hope you all have a great week!!

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Hi Roni, Long time lurker here. I have to congratulate you on your decision to leave the laptop home! You have so much on your plate right now that you really do need a true vacation! Having raised 3 kids (now gram to 6 little ones), and moved 13 – yes count them! – 13 times I know how stressful that can be. Not to mention adding in a new job and house? I worked in a real estate office for years and buying or selling a house is one of life’s biggest stress events. So enjoy your vacation and have a wonderful time with your family! The rest of the world will still be here when you get back.

That is a wonderful realization to come to and I bet that feels so good! I don’t blame you for wanting to blog about it. I just realized myself this morning that eating only when I am hungry has just about become automatic and it is such a great feeling.

It sounds like the trip to the beach couldn’t have come at a better time. Enjoy and I will look forward to reading the tweets!
