Roni -
Thanks so much for answering my "healthy vs lite" question! On a podcast too...:) Your response went with my gut - the more I read and think about food the less I want mono-something or other in my body!
And I got your "organic rant" too - it's really about whole foods vs processed foods. Whether organic or not - (but I like organic better). Anyway, thanks for responding! And my choice in "healthy" half and half is worth the extra 1/2 mile on a run every day! :) Gotta keep it balanced!

Thank you for this post! You are reassuring me!

I began working out and eating healthier in December and have lost about 10-12 lbs. I am at my ideal weight now (5'4" and 135-ish correlates to about a size 6 for my body type). I am an everyday weigher and I also keep a measuring tape because although I stopped seeing a drop on the scale back several months ago, I have continued to lose inches. I work out 5 days a week and try to burn at least 600 calories on those days.

I have been letting my diet slip a little (my hubby and i love ben and Jerry's chocolate caramel chunk ice cream) and have noticed my weight go up a little...and I have gained about 1/2" back in my waist. I am still fitting in my size 6, but I am reining in my icecream habit a bit and am confident I will be back soon.

Your confidence with not having the scale is so inspiring. I hope to one day feel that way!!

Hey Roni,
With the Misto make sure you pump it LOTS my fiancee pumped mine about 30 times the other day and it was the lightest most wonderful mist ever. When i pump it like 10 times i get something between the stream you talk about and the mist from one with chemical propellants. Pump it lots and you will love it, you might also have a dud if its coming in a stream, it shouldn't.

I love your videos. I watched it as I walked on the treadmill - what a combo! I felt almost saintly! You looked really pretty and you have a fun way of talking - it was very enjoyable and I hope you find time to do more in the future.

I want to thank you especially for what you said about the scale. I like to weigh myself every day, but sometimes when the number wasn't what I was hoping for, it would just get me depressed enough to fall off the wagon and binge. So I would try weighing myself less often, but that often had the same effect - an even bigger disappointment followed by the requisite binge.

Now, thanks to this blog and Blog To Lose and other sites, I have educated myself and psyched myself up enough to stay motivated despite setbacks. Like you said, it doesn't have to start on a Monday - it starts immediately after the four cookies. And I realized that I don't have to fight with myself (it really is a struggle) to stay off the scale - I can weigh myself daily if that's what I'm feeling like doing. And if eventually I no longer need to, fine. I can't tell you what a relief it is for me to have that question answered and to be able to do what I want so much to do.

You said that you started this blog for yourself, but if you can help others, it's that much more. So please know that you are really helping me out here, and I need it so much and am endlessly grateful. I wish you the strength and peace of mind to continue doing this great stuff.

there are no organic doritos available. i think you were thinking of "natural doritos".

Roni, I think I have a few articles on my computer that I wrote a few years back to educate local gardeners about the difference between natural, organic and "free range" when it comes to meat. If you want, email me, I would be happy to pass them alone. I also have one entitled, "Organic: Why Bother?"
