Note to self…

Date June 23, 2009

You didn’t get your run in this morning. What were you going to do? Leave the toddler home alone sleeping?

You are going to have to cut yourself some slack these next few weeks. The packing, the moving, the adjustments to a new schedule with working full time. You will find your groove. You always do.

Don’t beat yourself up. You aren’t going to forget how to run. Do what you can when you can and remember the goal. You will cross that marathon finish line come October no matter what. Remember that!

  1. YES. :)

  2. Note to Roni : You kick ass so it’s ok to have a ‘not so exercise-y day’.

    End of Note :)

  3. Yeesh… with a move of my own coming up I am having some early anxiety listening to all your responsibilities! I better get lots of exercise and healthy meals now before things get crazy!

  4. I think you are absolutely right – there are times in our lives where it is hard to find time to exercise. In my quest to lose the weight (150 lbs) there were good and bad days. Now, all these years later, I still exercise every day that I can possibly fit it in. You are amazing with your commitment and motivation!

  5. Pop Chips and salsa is a great snack! A whole bag of Pop Chips is only 2 pts. and salsa has negligible points! I like your apple/peanut better idea, too. I dip my apple slices in 2 Tbsp. Better’n Peanut Butter for a 3 point snack!

  6. Yes, you are so right. Sometimes we have to cut ourselves some slack, but it can be so hard to do… I just finished teaching for the quarter, and there were a couple insanely busy weeks, plus the toddler got sick several times. I just couldn’t work out as much during those weeks. I was tempted to “beat myself up” and feel badly. But I stopped myself and focused on doing what was doable at the time. And when things got back to normal, I went back to my regular routine.

Thanks for reminding us that things aren’t always “normal” and that that’s okay. I really enjoy your blog and your positive messages! I especially enjoy your video posts, but it always takes me forever to watch them as I need to find some “toddler-free” time…
