Roni, Lance Armstrong is so right!

Sometimes I get serious pain in the neck, and sometimes I let it get the best of me, too. But a physiotherapist I know always says that even if you should not move the hurting area, you can move everything else, and this will actually accelerate the healing process. And she is a 100% right. If I still work out I feel better faster. In yoga I learned to move your thoughts away from the pain and to something more positive, and it works, too. I should train this more, by the way....

Forgive yourself for the (I bet delicious) fallback and treat yourself to a massage or some healing workout.

Lots of love!

I've been having a down weekend, so I appreciate the quote and the perspective. I need to remain in charge of the choices I make, and know that I can make better ones.

Roni,

Hang in there. I hope that getting back on track has clicked in. It's not fun being couched due to an injury. Have you thought about doing some yoga? There's a great website http://yogapol.typepad.com/yogayum/ and she has posted some 10 minute youtube videos of back pain. I think it's lower back, but it might help. Give it a go..at least it will help you get moving.

That's a fantastic attitude. Thanks for sharing!

On another note, I will never doubt you again. When I heard you talk on your podcast about BBQ soy chips with salsa, I was skeptical ... but I tried them today and you're right ... YUM!

... And to quote the US Marines: "Pain is weakness leaving the body" That thought gets me through many a workout... not to mention the aftermath of a tough one.
So sorry to hear you hurt yourself. Feel better!

I completely agree with you. Feeling sorry for one self, robs you of your goals and the joyous moments you could be enjoying otherwise. Here's one interesting quote by Helen Keller,

"Self-pity is our worst enemy and if we yield to it, we can never do anything wise in this world.”

I think it is really great of you to finally beat it and enjoy the day!
