Roni,

Great list. I have "Julio" in heavy rotation, though on my relaxation mix... There are several here that I haven't heard in some time, so I am off to the iTunes store!

"just thinking about the feeling I know i’m going to have, makes me smile. :)

Roni--

What an inspirational thing to say! If I could train myself to concentrate on the feeling I am going to have at the end of excercising I would be so much more motivated to START exercising. I think I need to tape those words somewhere where I will see them often!

How does your Nike+ work when you wear your asics? I have a pair of asics that I love to run in, but I bought a second pair when I started using my Nike+ with my ipod (love that pair too though). Just wondering.

Wow, eclectic music list, good for you hon! And with the marathon, you CAN do this...all this training and there's nothing that you can't accomplish. You will finish that race, and you'll have all your hard work and support to thank for it.

Hugs, and you're a braver soul than I...I want to do a 8K before I even think about doing marathons...lol.

Just want to echo Kelly's comments about the Galloway walk/run method. It is a great way to transition from the 5K to longer runs. Does your training plan call for long endurance runs on the weekend? This is the best place to do the walk/run method and really boost your confidence for your upcoming half and marathon. Go to the Galloway website to find the right walk/run ratio for you based on your current running pace.

I was where you are at now about a year ago, ran a half marathon last May doing 4 minute run/1 minute walks. I now do my weekly long runs without regular walk breaks, but many people keep them. They don't affect your overall pace as much as you'd think.

I just completed my first 1/2 marathon, last week as a matter of fact. I chose to travel from very cold upstate NY (training in sub zero temps) to warm and sunny Miami. It was by far one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Before that I had never ran more than 15K (9.3 miles) race. I had many "what was I thinking moments" even up to the minute I arrived at the start line. The music I chose to train to and then make a mix for my race really helped. I timed each song to the miles (which took a while) but I knew that the first mile is the roughest and the songs helped...and then mile 7 was like....again "what was I thinking" and all of a sudden I was at mile 11 jamming to some great tunes and enjoying the moment....yes enjoying the moment of approaching 11 miles....I never thought I would say that 160 pounds ago (yes that is how much I have lost since 2005). I am loving your site Roni...it motivates me to the core! Recipes, stories, and EVERYTHING in between! Thanks!
