*Deep breath*

OK.. this one is easy.. you let yourself get too hungry… You had a long day… You’re *cough* retaining water… the toddler was on a last nerve… so was the husband….

What did you expect when you decided on a pizza joint for dinner?

I know exactly what you mean!

Didn’t eat my afternoon snack so I was starving on my way home.

Had a horrible day at work. WAY TOO BUSY!!! (hence the no afternoon snack)

Called hubby on the way home and he met me at Chili’s where I ate WAY to many chips and salsa before my meal came. Ate a sensible meal, though.

    Ugh!!

Came home and cooked a lean pot of chili for tomorrow night’s dinner. DON’T want to eat out again!

  2. sounds like my day but w/o the pizza…still managed to not eat well though.

My day went good….it was my NIGHT again. Midnight…happens every time! I am trying hard to break the cycle…but nothing seems to be working! UGGGGG! Today is a new day…or I guess I should say Tonight is a new night! We will try again!
Hope your day is good! :)

Roni, the reason I love to read your notes to self is that they are all what we are thinking to ourselves on any given day. You just make sure we all know we are not alone. Thank you.

I just thought that I would point out that in your tag cloud “Running” has 35 topics and “food” has 28 topics.

That is how your blog has progressed. I hope that I can be half as successful as you are.

Roni! The same thing happened to me yesterday (without the toddler, though – lol). I was beat and stressed and tired and planned to make a low calorie version of this Archer Farms brand goat cheese, spinach, tomato pizza… and what did we do? We got pizza out. And the WHOLE time I was thinking – I should have just got my butt in the kitchen because I KNOW my version of pizza would be better for me and taste better too! Ugh!

Dinner is definitely the hardest part of my day.. so easy to fall off the wagon. Just gotta hop back on today, though :)

Mandi, I was going to make a suggestion about your midnight munchies

Start your calorie day at midnight. So if you are consuming lets say 1,600 calories a day, or 24 points for example, once you start eating at midnight then deduct the day from there.

It could do two things. If you know you are starting to use your calories then, you may use them wisely, because they have to last 24 hours.

OR, you eat what you want, and then adjust throughout the day. Then you will never be over at midnight, because you have just begun!

I feel your pain. My 10 month old has decided she doesn’t want to nap anymore, my husband came home from work only to shut himslf in the office and make phone calls all night, and I wanted to eat the legs off the table. I didn’t, but even though I was good, I was mad at myself for even thinking about being bad. )o:
I went to the gym twice today and worked out all my aggression. I feel better today.

I did that last weekend. We ate a sensible dinner and then went to play poker with friends. I even took a very lovely veggie tray with reduced fat dip. But my friend busted out the ruffles and french onion dip. Plus the vodka. I had a 10 calorie mixer but vodka is not 10 calories. I had 4 drinks over the course of 5 hours and ate the chips all night long and I wasn’t even hungry. The next morning, I got up and made french toast and turkey bacon (I had 1 piece of the french toast and 3 strips of turk bacon). After a trip to the gym (where I very lazily rode a recumbant bike and read a magazine) I made lasagna and ate it and everything that wasn’t nailed down all day. The rest of the week has not been much better. I started training for a Sprint Triathlon on Monday. I am loving it but need to get my eating under control. My exercise is finally starting to look good in terms of what I am doing but my eating is crazytown. I don’t think I like to live out of balance but apparently I do… unless the balance is eating horribly and being a couch potato….

Breathe hon, you have every right to pick a pizza joint…as long as it’s not everynight or everyother night. Relax and enjoy yourself, sounds like you need some comfort food for destressing for the day.

Just stay smart and don’t overdo it! Hugs!

You slapping yourself on the forehead brought “should have had a V8″ to my brain ;).

I feel your pain! Pizza rules…I can veg it up, go without cheese…but my downfall is the crust :(

  16. sara says:

Totally! What gets me is when I have had a stressful day.

  17. Camevil says:

Been there, done that. Oh boy, have I ever.

But, screw it. Enjoy the pizza. The bloat will go away. Give yourself permission to indulge and move on tomorrow.

I had this same kind of day Wednesday. Spent all day working on a dinner for church. Didn’t eat much and when it was all over all I wanted to do was hit up Sonic. Now that I think about it “Yuck!”
