One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Thursday Thoughts XV

7 Comments 1160 views

I got one for ya tonight, just one. The cleaning of the house is taking me over. I’m behind on email (again), have a few things backlogged and am, well, exhausted.

Even so, I couldn’t go without a Thursday Thoughts post. Not with the yogurt giveaway looming out there! I used my trusted and the lucky winner is Bethany!

Congrats!! Now go get your yogurt on! :)

My one thought this week is based on an article a friend sent me. Have you ever told yourself you didn’t like something just because you didn’t want to eat it? I use this trick all the time… "oh no, no thanks, I don’t ‘like’ cheesecake." "Jelly doughnut? No, not a fan." Are they lies? Sort of. I just thought it was easier to say I didn’t like something instead of turning it down and then wanting it later. I figured after awhile I’d believe myself. It works (for me!) Well now there may be some science to it. Click here to read Lose the Memory, Lose the Weight. Very interesting.

There you have it. My one thought. :)

As for news from me… No big moves on the house front yet. I’m just getting prepared. We should know by next week what our plans are. I’m just using the possibility as an excuse to CLEAN! I’d say I’m about 60% done. Hoping to finish up the majority this weekend.

GreenLiteBites saw some action this week. First I made some Fresh Black Bean Dip (SO yummy with carrot sticks!), then I used some leftovers to whip up Pork, Peppers & Pasta and yesterday I pulled out the crock pot for some yummy veggie chili! Oh! and how can I forget my new dessert/snack idea Chocolate Ricotta Rolls!

Other then that I’m helping a client of mine monetize her blog. I built it for her last year and now we are working on taking it to the next level. Click here to check us out at lunch. See… this is the type of stuff I want to blog about on my NEW geeky blog. :) Still scheduled to be launched by the end of the month by the way.

Things in the works… A food scale giveaway, a review of a journal tool and some food finds and reviews.

Oh! and my second guest post on DietsInReview is up, Wonderful Wonton Wrappers.

Right now…. Catch up on some email… watch CSI and go to bed. :)

More thoughts next thursday.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Roni, you are one busy lady – I’m exhausted just reading everything you’ve been up to!

That article was interesting about the false memories. I guess that’s why continuously telling my self about the after affects fo eating foods like fried food have such horrible nausiating discomfort works. There is some truth to it, but I know I’ve ballooned that wee truth into an affect I cannot bear.

Loving the blog of the “client of yours”. She rawks. Wishing her blogs were open for public comment, though.

Saying that you don’t like cheesecake – even if you enjoy the flavor – isn’t a lie if you don’t like what it does to your derriere! It’s almost being MORE truthful than not… ;) …right?

RIGHT! Never thought of it that way. LOL

I haven’t used that one but I have often said “no thanks, I just ate” when I haven’t :)

We all have our little lies………not so bad, right?
