The Excitement is Still There

I think we may really be putting the house on the market but even if we don’t, I’m SOOO HAPPY I’m going through this process. The act of cleaning and organizing is giving me a boost of motivation. Seriously… it sounds awful but if you are feeling down in the dumps pick a closet and go to town. By the time you are finished you feel refreshed and ready to move on to the next project! I swear!

Anyway, I took a break from my cleaning frenzy and decided to hit my favorite Weight Watchers meeting. I was late so I didn’t weigh in right away. The meeting was great! So many people celebrating successes. I love that! I hoped on the scale afterwards not even thinking what the number would be. That was the first thing that struck me. I was just so indifferent about the scale. I’m wondering if it’s because I have so much on my mind??

Who knows. So I get on and the receptionists said.. "Your down! 1.6!"

I was so happy! I mean, I wasn’t really trying to lose. It wasn’t on my mind but I was still so excited! It was almost as if I got back *that* losing feeling. Like… “I’m doing this! I’m really doing this!” Other maintainers will understand. That feeling just isn’t the same after you reach goal and stay there awhile.

After 3 years of maintaining it was just weird getting that feeling back. When I got home and plugged the numbers in my excel sheet I realized this is the lowest scale reading since May 14, 2008. That’s almost a YEAR! I wonder if it has anything to do with all the running I’ve been doing? Which reminds me I’ve been updating my training schedule. Tomorrow’s a 3.5 mile and then Friday I’ll be hanging out with the trainer.

Right now? Well I need to get one more thing done for tomorrow. Then I want to straighten up, fold laundry and head to bed.

Happy Hump Day! :)

Pleeeease do post the blueberry oatmeal idea! I just stuck some really delicious fresh blueberries in the freezer for fear they’d start going bad on me!

All that running burns soooooo many calories! That’s why I took it up (I wanted something quick and dirty LOL!) Congrats on your good meeting! It sounded fun!

I love to work out my frustration with organizing and cleaning. Often when I am annoyed about something, usually something I can’t do anything about, I go to town on my closet or my towel closet or maybe just my baking cupboard and I feel so much better. I think it is the feeling of being in control that I love. You know, like I can’t control whatever is bothering me but I get that shot of control when I see freshly organized shelves! I totally understand your buzz from it!
