Stick with it Joanne! It's a long journey and you don't always see the scale budge the way you want it to. But remember, some of the changes that you might not see are the ones that are going on inside. By sticking with WW, you are becoming healthier, creating healthy habits and probably already feel better. Keep up the good work and before you know it, you'll be seeing the results you want!

Oh Man the evil scale!! It seems like it likes you some weeks and not so much other weeks.

After awhile though, I think that you start to see your body's patterns. For example, before my 'time of the month' I retain water like a crazy person and my weight is several pounds higher than usual. This was totally annoying when I began my weightloss journey. But now since I've been at this so long, I come to expect it.

Sticking with it has been the best thing ever. Slow and steady wins the race.

I may not be where I want to be,
I may not even be where I should be
but thank God I'm not where I was......

Don't compare yourself today from yesterday.....
Compare yourself today from the start of your journey...
and then my friend...you have still lost 5 lbs!

Nothing changes if nothing changes.

Joanne --- every person is right to say stick with it. My second piece of advice is that you can always start over. I used to binge eat when I was discouraged and then think "I'll start over on Monday...." and I wouldn't. Now when I slip up, I treat as such and move on -- the very next meal! I don't wait for tomorrow or Monday -- I try to make good choices ASAP. Good luck in journey!

Joanne,

Forget about time, what finally worked for me after many years of coming and going to WW, was promising myself to attend meetings no matter if I lost or gained, just keep going. Sometimes I was up, sometimes down, I got down 40lbs, have gained back 13 and will continue going to meetings. I love my leader, go out of my way extra half hour to be with her, she motivates me and believes I can do it, when I have trouble believing. May '09 will be two years and I will be at goal 50lbs down! I'm committing to my leader, my family, New Years, but most of all I'm committing to myself. I'm done waking up wishing, hoping and dreaming of doing it...I'm doing it now! Enough wasting time, life is too short and I want to look good in shorts this summer!

You will always be able to find a discouraging data point if you're looking for it. You will always, always, always be able to find a reason to think that it's all hopeless. The only way I ever got anywhere was to stop looking for reasons to doubt and to just trust my body and my plan. My username on this site was my weight loss motto, and it worked. Of course you will feel discouraged sometimes, but if you stop overthinking it, have faith, and just do what you know you need to, things will work out.

On another note, thank you so much for answering all of these questions Roni. You pour so much time into answering these questions well and we all really appreciate it!

I also needed this today. I'm very frustrated that I am not seeing results fast enough but I need to give my body more time to adjust to the changes I am making.

Also, you've only been at this for two weeks... while I'm sure that feels like an eternity to you, don't expect too much too soon. Instead concentrate on the better choices you'll make. The scale ALWAYS catches up to what you're doing.
