100 Random Things About Me
Are you guys on facebook? I am and recently I’ve been tagged about 100 times to write 25 random things about myself. I was about to do it when I remembered WAY back when I wrote a 100 Random Things about me post on my old site that I lost in the crash (if you are a new reader, long story short… I lost 2 years worth of posts and had to rebuild the site a couple of years ago.)
Anyway, instead of just writing the 25 things I went on a mission to find the 100 ones I wrote back then. Partly because I really wanted to read the old list but mostly because I’m stubborn. I searched my desktop. No luck. Then I remembered the wayback machine! I took a look at my archives for WeightWatchen (my old site name) and TaaaDaaaa! It was there! I was so excited!
Re-reading them was an experience. I had to change a few as they were a bit dated but overall this was my original 100 things about me post.
- I love those cheesy mail forwards where you answer questions to get to know your friends. (kind of like this) ;)
- I am the biggest sap in the world. I routinely cry watching t.v. dramas, touching commercials or sometimes just by looking at my son.
- I sing out load and dance around like a complete idiot when I’m home with my son. (my workout)
- I’m not the biggest fan of County or Hard Core Rap but everything in between is OK.
- I rarely drink but when I do I like to get a little giddy.
- My mom is my biggest hero, I’m so much like her, sometimes wish I was more so and sometimes less.
- I want to shave my head just once, totally bald. I’ve come close a few times but never had the guts.
- I cut my nails really short, so short most people think I bite them.
- I love painting my toe nails blue in the summer.
- I have a fear of tow stubbing. I seem to do it all the time. (Translation: I’m a klutz)
- If I could, I’d wear a pair of Birkenstocks every day.
- I brush my teeth in the shower.
- I always have the feeling I’m “winging” it. Must be a confidence thing.
- I am a jack of all trades and master of none.
- I LOVE the fact that I’m in my 30s and am enjoying getting older.
- I’m deathly afraid of getting wrinkles.
- My son is perfect in every way and I’m enjoying watching him get older.
- I don’t want anymore children. UPDATE 3/15/11 – As I sit here 9 months preggers this has, of course, changed. Last year the baby bug bit me BAD! so I will rephrase my original to… I never wanted two babies at the same time. ;)
- I have the 2 closest friends in the world they couldn’t be any more different.
- I wish I went to art school.
- I may be left and right brained but more likely then that, I’m an artist at heart who learned how to fake being a programmer.
- As I got older I enjoy gardening.
- I LOVE grocery shopping and can spend hours in the store reading and exploring new products.
- I love scary movies, even the cheesy slasher types.
- I have 5 small tattoos, each one means something different to me.
- I love to cuddle.
- I’m obsessed with old, black and white pictures of New York City.
- I’m obsessed with web culture and technology.
- I never thought it would happen, but I can’t keep up with the latest songs, artists or what’s on the radio.
- I now listen to the progressive rock/adult alternative station.
- If you couldn’t tell already. I may be the worst writer in the world.
- I can’t spell (Duh?)
- I have no grammar skills
- I’ve been growing my hair out so I can donate it to locks for love but now I’m attached to it. Update: I cut it all off.. SLOWLY. The donation never happened.
- I don’t recycle. Bad I know. I’m working on it. Update: I am now a proud recycler!
- I HATE coffee. Never had a cup, never will.
- I hate creamy soups, mayo, sour cream, and ranch dressing.
- Mary Poppins is my favorite Disney movie.
- I play with the legos and train tracks more then my son does.
- I only drink water (except that occasional spirit) and don’t understand peoples fascination with soda.
- I have too many interests. I want to take art classes, nutrition classes, dance classes, you name it.
- I wish I could speak another language. (yet another class I want to take)
- I’ve been wearing the same earrings for months and rarely wear jewelry as accessories.
- I can go outside without make-up and wasn’t wearing any for my last driving license photo (I also had super short spikey hair)
- I love playing pool, and I’m not half bad but the pool halls around here suck!
- I’m a poker fanatic. I played when I was a kid with my grandparents and I’m happy there is a poker phase giving more attention to the game now.
- I originally write this while watching poker on TV.

- I was in the Army Reserves and went through Basic Training right after High School.
- I never enjoyed reading until recently.
- I LOVE the Jersey Shore and boardwalks.
- Atlantic City is my favorite weekend getaway. (Yes I know it’s on the Jersey Shore)

- I still don’t know what size bra I should be wearing.
- Serial Killers fascinate me.
- I went through a pink phase in my preteen years, which was directly followed by a black phase in high school. Then I was “saved” by the grunge flannel look in the early 90’s. (This may be why I can’t shop for clothes today)
- I really do love to cook and experiment with food.
- I’m thinking 100 things may be too many now that I started this.

- I needed to ask my husband to help with the last few things about myself.
- I rub my feet together when I sleep.

What's Cooking in my kitchen?
-
I've recently discovered the amazing combination of cheese and dried cherries. I know, it sounds weird, but seriously… good! The other day I smeared some Laughing Cow Light Swiss on Cucumber slices and then topped with a cherry. It was a fun, sweet twist on standard cheese and crackers. Well, cheese [...] -
If I was a good blogger this idea would have been published BEFORE the Super Bowl not during it. I made these today to have a little fun. Surprisingly, The Husband liked them even though he didn't eat more than one. Why? Because he's strange like [...] -
If you read my weight loss blog you know I'm battling a bit of back and neck pain right now. I'm starting to feel a little better but those first few days where rough. Being the head chef of the household, this meant we ordered in a couple of times. I'm [...] -
I'm LOVING Pinterest! I can just scroll all day long looking at food photo after food photo. I wish I had more time to peruse! (I'm RoniNoone there by the way?) The other day I pinned a Portabello Mushroom pizza and was immediately inspired. It's such a simple idea and so light. [...] -
The other day I found myself craving an Orange Julius. Are they as popular as I think they are? Growing up we had an Orange Julius at our local mall. It was always a treat for us at the end of a family shopping trip. Once I was old enough to be [...] -
So I'm a little breakfast nutty at the moment. Little Bean LOVES eggs and I find myself cooking them more and more. This morning I decided to go super light (after last nights chocolate overload) and it was totally satisfying for just over 100 calories! The trick to making [...] -
A few weeks ago I saw Chef Michael Simon make a raw kale salad on The Chew. He sliced beets up real thin and cut the kale into ribbons. Then made a vinaigrette out of red wine vinegar and olive oil. I was immediately intrigued. So far I've only [...] -
I've had this idea for a quick creamy chicken dish for a few days now. It was time to give it a shot. The whole family LOVED it. I'm not joking. The only complaint came from Little Guy who declared his hate of mushrooms yet again BUT he ate everything around them. Fine [...] -
I made this on a total whim yesterday as I had leftover avocado after feeding the baby and leftover Spaghetti squash cooked from the weekend. I roasted the squash to serve with my Chicken tips instead of potatoes and it was AMAZING! Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked. So I'm sitting there staring [...] -
It's post holiday season. You know what that means? Leftover Crescent rolls to experiment with! Every year for Thanksgiving I buy a few canisters. It's the only time I do as I can't be trusted around them. Let's just say I'd beat you in the How-Many-Crescent-Rolls-Can-You-Eat-In-One-Sitting game and leave [...] -
Last week the kids and I tried parsnips for the first time and I've made them 3 times since. I wanted to figure out the best way to roast them. Yeah, that's it, the best way to roast them. You'll buy that right? Right? The truth is, I'm obsessed. I found myself [...] -
Yesterday just felt like a good day to stuff an acorn squash. I had one sitting on my counter for quite some time and it was just begging to be cooked. Since both husband and child don't like it I made a solo meal just for me and, well, it was DELICIOUS! [...] -
I bought a fennel bulb on a whim for the holidays not knowing quite what I would do with it. Of course I forgot about until yesterday when I was rummaging through the fridge trying to figure out what I wanted to make for breakfast. I pulled it out and stared [...] -
I probably should have warned you I was taking a holiday hiatus. I've been soaking up every moment of family time imaginable these last few days, leaving no time for anything else. Not even blogging! Shocking I know. ;) So I return not with a new recipe, per se, but to [...] -
Here's a quick idea for when you find yourself with a spaghetti squash but don't quite know what to do with it. Come on. Admit it. That's happened to you too. It's sure happened to me! I roasted this squash on Sunday... [...] -
I'm not sure if this will be a crowd pleaser, but I liked it and thought I'd share in hopes it inspires you to have some fun with kale. I loved the combination of sweet pear, earthy kale, salty bacon bits and creamy hummus. The only issue with the wrap was [...] -
I'm going on day 2 of counting Weight Watcher Points and I'm already inspired to come up with light, healthy meals for myself. It's like I needed the constraint of points to motivate me. Isn't that weird? Anyway, all morning I was brainstorming what to make for lunch. I wanted something flavorful [...] -
I have a friend who patiently cleaned, peeled and cubed a fresh pumpkin and then selflessly gave me some. Scratch that, a TON! I would have never even thought of doing something like that! But now that I have it in my fridge the ideas are flowing. First, I roasted some [...] -
CHRISTMAS COOKIES! YAY! Sorry. I'm so excited! Little Guy and I had tons of fun making and decorating cookies today. It may just be my favorite part of the holiday season. I loved it when I was a kid and now I get to do it with my own kids. [...] -
This may be my simplest idea yet, but it was so tasty and satisfying I had to share. Plus you guys know I'm a Laughing Cow Community Leader so I'm all about sharing fun ways to use their products. You guys may also know how I feel about pausing and making [...] -
I made this on Thursday. THURSDAY! I hate when I can't post something I've eaten within 24 hours. It just bugs me. Not sure why, it really doesn't matter when I post it, does it? Anyway, I did whip this up to cure a pizza craving and I couldn't be happier. [...] -
It's been awhile since I jazzed up a tilapia fillet. I've breaded them before, coated them in oats, flavored them like one of my favorite drinks and topped them with a fun salsa. It was time to bring nuts into the party. You are going to think I'm crazy but I've [...] -
Fun leftover turkey idea #2! Click here for leftover turkey idea #1. I had a little Gouda leftover from this years Harvest Salad and decided to put all the same flavors from the salad into a quesadilla. I just can't get enough of the smokey gouda/sweet craisin combo. It goes [...] -
It's the day after Thanksgiving and my refrigerator ROCKS! I have leftover turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, roasted Brussels Sprouts, a bunch of veggies and tons of miscellaneous fun stuff. I've already made stock from the bones (like this) and my first batch of soup, Classic Turkey Noodle. I hope to share [...] -
I'm so sorry I've been slacking in the Thanksgiving recipe department. I feel like a bad food blogger. Everyone else is posting festive ideas and here I've gone missing for a few days. Maybe it's because I'm not doing anything special for Turkey day. I finally got my holiday cooking [...]

love it :-) these are so fun to read!
LOST is the best show ever. I am glad to hear that my friends and I are not the only one’s still hooked!
Great list Roni!
I’ll let you know if I get around to making my list.
There’s a new show on Wednesday nights called Lie to Me, you might like that one too.
You SHOULD move to Florida!!!
After reading your blog for almost 4 years now, I thought I knew “everything” about you!! Basic Training?!?! Beer pong?!?! Roni!!! I once had a shaved head…I kept it that way for a year, and I loved it. Actually, I was once in AC with my shaved head and I got a million compliments….it was surreal. I’ll put a picture up on my BTL, so take a look!
Thanks for sharing your list, Roni! This is cool!
By the way, you may feel otherwise, but you are a terrific writer. Sure, proper grammar and spelling make writing more “usable” for readers, but they don’t make writing “good.” (Sort of like how perfect syntax in code does not necessarily make for great computer programs.) Even if one’s writing is flawless in those ways, it can still be dull and lifeless. Your good writing shines through; I enjoy reading your writing and I learn a lot from you and your site.
I’ve done it!
Check out my list:

I wrote a list like this back in 2005. It cracks me up to re-read it. And Roni, we have so many *weird* things in common, it’s almost frightening, but I think it’s really cool. I have never heard that anyone else rubs their feet together when they sleep! I have actually worn out sheets.
#34- I just donated 13 inches, I am on day 7 of growing it back out. I miss it, but may do it again because it is such a great cause.
#42- je parle francais :) community college language classes are a ball I have my AA in french now.
#82- I googled bra fitting specialist and found a place in my area… I am waiting until I back in shape, but should go now..
#89- I barely ever go to the beach, and I live in San Diego.
;) I really had fun reading your list
Jennie
wow, I bet that was a lot of work!!! I love that Mary Poppins is your favorite Disney movie!
If you still want to shave your head, I’ve got a great excuse for you to do it:
http://www.stbaldricks.org/
You raise money for childhood cancer, getting people to pledge money for you to be shaved. Even better, you can set up an event, getting several people to do it. (Like maybe your local fire station or police dept … )
OMG – that sheep thing just about made me cry. Poor little bugger!! :)
As I read through everything, I thought, “That’s me. That’s me too. Hey, and that’s me too.” Then I got to 100, read you’re a Leo too and understood.
lol…I have a lot of the same things in common… :)
I brush my teeth in the shower too.. Everyone i know this its weird.. I just think it saves time =]
whoa 100 things! i didn’t know if i could do it- so i tried it! it’s my latest post :)
Check this out about index vs ring finger size.. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20090113.wlfinger13/BNStory/specialScienceandHealth/

http://millyscraps.com/100things.html
visit me sometime at http://jansdailydish.blogspot.com – i blog post menopausal nonsense daily…
Basic Training? No kidding! I spent 8+ lovely weeks in FT leonard Wood, Missouri in Jan. 1998. I remember your “old” website, and thought I had read your list. My index fingers are longer than my ring fingers and on my right hand, my index finger is almost the same length. I must be a total freak! ( nothing new under the sun)
Roni…I knew you were a leo..my mom is my hero..i say i love you too many times to count to hubby and kids..and I am a sap….and this is just a few of things we have in common..your such an inspiration,,thank you
I finally did it! I can’t believe you thought of 100, it took me FOREVER to think of 25 lol!
Hey now I understand your name. Awesome girl! We do have some things in common namely #1, 4, 9, 10, 18, 27, 29… oh heck I’m tired of scrolling. LOL We have lots in common ;)

i am perplexed that you Like to GambLe but you dont believe in SouLMates!
ScarLeTTe – LOL why? Are they related somehow?
enjoyed reading it.
don’t you think #18 needs to change ? LOL!
I enjoyed reading this Roni- some of your answers were funny. Im a Leo too (my bday is 7/25) when is your birthday?
I get bored laying on the beach too :-)
I have enjoyed reading this, somehow I am thinking some of these have changed …especially the one about not wanting more children
This design is spectacular! You certainly know how to keep a reader amused. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Great job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
Hey there! I’m at work surfing around your blog from my new iphone 3gs! Just wanted to say I love reading through your blog and look forward to all your posts! Carry on the great work!
