Weekend Quote: Success & Failure

Date December 21, 2008

I’m in AC living it up for the husband’s birthday but you know I couldn’t leave without having a Weekend Quote all queued up and ready to go. :) I’m getting "slightly" better…

Colette left this comment on on my recent post about the audition

“Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.”
— Sir Winston Churchill

LOVE it!

Thinking about it from the weight loss perspective… How many times did your weigh-in not go the way you wanted it to? Even though every week we’d like to drop 5 pounds the reality is we will not. There will be some weeks we only lose .5 or .2. We may even gain. BUT if we keep our enthusiasm, our motivation, for the journey we WILL succeed! 99 3/4 % guaranteed! ;~)

  1. That is so right. Hope AC isn’t getting the snow we are here in PA. Enjoy. Enjoy. Enjoy.

  2. I love that quote! I have a talk with myself every week before weigh in where I come up with at least 3 things I did during the week that helped me toward my goal. That way, even if my weigh in doesn’t go great, I already feel successful and ready to tackle the next week.

  3. I love that quote! I have one that I think I got from WW online that really inspires me and I have up on my refrigerator:

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but a habit.” - Aristotle

It made me realize that we aren’t “brilliant” just because we do one thing right, but rather our excellence is rooted in the fact that we keep doing the same healthy things consistently, day by day, week by week. We count points everyday, we get weighed every week. These habits create excellence :)

  4. I just said to myself this morning…”Gosh, I really miss Roni!” Kudos to you for queuing up a post for us…3 days sans Roni is too many! Hope you’re having a blast in AC!
