Roni’s Day in the Life Video Series - A Nokia Review
December 12, 2008
Before I start this post I have to scream something…
I’M DONE EDITING VIDEO…… YAY!
lol
If any of you follow me on twitter or facebook you probably are SICK of me complaining. Anyway, let me back up for a minute as most of you have NO idea what I’m talking about.
A few weeks ago Nokia emailed asking If I’d be willing to trial one of their new camera phones, the N96 to record a "Day in the Life". Apparently they selected a few bloggers from across the interweb in different niches and I was one of the lucky ones that get picked!

I was, dare I say, MORE then excited as I thought they were actually GIVING me the phone. Honestly, I ran upstairs to tell the husband ecstatically as I was coincidentally in the market for a new phone at the time.
I should have known it was too good to be true.
Through our correspondence I realized it was only a TRIAL. Meaning after I was done recording I’d have to give the camera/phone back. :( oh… well… I knew I’d still have fun! When will I learn that nothing in life is free? lol
Anyway, so my take on the phone… VERY COOL. Most phones have a camera but not many cameras have a phone. Know what I mean? That’s how I would describe this device, it’s truly a Camera then a Phone. The video quality is awesome. Photo capturing with the large screen amazing. Even navigating through your recorded photos and videos was a cinch.
I’m not sure the camera would replace my current one for my food photos as it’s close up capabilities seemed lacking. But for an over all utility camera, especially for a blogger, this device is sweet. It’s 5 megapixel camera blows by LG Dare out of the water. It also has 16GB of memory AND you can watch TV on it!
Ok…. I’m not going to get any more geek then that. I told I need a new geek blog. :)
So here it is. The video start with a makep-less me coming out of the bathroom and includes sneak peaks into my pantry, my fridge, my spice cabinet even my iTunes. I make two dishes, pick up the toddler, we play cars, make his lunch, I go the gym, my sink even leaks! It’s truly just random clips of my life within a 24 (well, 27) hour time frame.
The video below will play through each clip in sequence. If you place your mouse over the video you’ll see all the clips and you can hop around. They are all in order as I recorded them. You can also click here to see the playlist I put together on YouTube.
Ok, I’ll let the video speak for itself. It’s quite long and boring and you may be surprised at how much junk we actually eat for all that I preach. I was. And let me tell ya… the starburst morning habit is NO MORE but we still do go the Candy Store every Thursday. :)

Okay, roni, first let me say I didn’t anticipate watching the entire thing…..but you just sucked me in!!! It really is interesting seeing first hand how other people live. And the comment you made about comparing watching animals on the discovery channel to watching our kids play around was hysterical! That was totally not where I thought you were going with “this may sound bad”. LOL!! But thanks so much for sharing “a day in the life” with us. And it really puts into perspective all that you do for us!!! Thanks again.

LOL — yeah the first one is a bit shaky. It’s the worst as I was walking. I get much more “stable” as they go on. :) Sorry… didn’t mean to make ya sick!

hahahahaha…..I got sucked in too! I was gonna just watch 1 or 2, but I just couldn’t stop. You crack me up, Roni! I worked from home today too…because I held a Kronos Timekeeper system training class and I have high speed internet at home, but at work we have satellite. I connect with my trainees by iLink and when I train at work, there’s so much lag when I share my desktop with my students…..so it takes forever. But sheeesh…I was busy today! I really worked the entire time. I didn’t get to straighten up the house or start laundry or watch TV or knit…..ticked me off. But I quit at 10 minutes to 5 and left for a 35 minute brisk walk. Brrrrrr…it’s cold outside!

I watched the whole thing too…. I laughed out loud as you watched your little “Discovery Channel Boy” in his natural habitat. It was just too funny!
I loved your very last video blog when you talked about why you blog. I could hear and see the emotion and passion that you have for what you do. I think that you make so many of us that follow you feel like friends, even though we have never met. Thanks for sharing your day with us.

My husband and I watched the entire thing this morning (but I didn’t have a moment then to comment) and just have to say that we laughed and enjoyed it all. One of our favorite parts was of Ryan doing his thing. What memories that brings back of our boys when they were little. So cute. Thanks for sharing a little bit of your life. It’s so great to see.

I love the videos but I get motion sickness easily and kept getting whoosy while I watched it :-) But it was worth it. I like learning more about the woman behind the success.
