Note to Self…
December 15, 2008
Why did you need two Notes to Self this weekend? What is up with you?
Good job going to bed early last night to "stop the bleeding." You’re cravings where insatiable! Even though you didn’t make Sunday completely Sensational let’s shoot for a Marvelous Monday. Yes, you’ll be out all day, just plan, pack your snacks, and journal. These feelings shall pass, you know that.
Oh! and never… EVER buy baked Doritos again!! Didn’t you learn your lesson already? You just can’t be trusted! They are your crack. Stay away! and stop using the husband as an excuse he’s got more then enough snacks that don’t tempt you as much.
Now get over this weird mood and get on with the day! Every choice IS a new one!

Of course you know that you are not alone. I am an empty nester whose husband works a second job 3 evenings a week. Last Wednesday evening, I went to bed at 7:15, simply so I would not eat another thing. Actually I ended up enjoying myself very much because I read about 5 chapters of a book before turning off the light!

Have you tried the teeth-brushing trick? That can usually stop you from eating more if you’re not quite ready for bed. But sometimes going to sleep is the only hope:

Note to Roni: OF COURSE those feelings will pass. The important part is that you already know that :) You know the saying ‘crazy people don’t know they are crazy’ ? Same principal. If you really were turning into a big, terribly lazy couch potato you wouldn’t stress so much about it!
Keep positive and good luck with your Marvelous Monday!

LOVE the baked Doritos – they are like crack to me too. And Trader Joe’s sesame pretzels, I just can’t have them in my house anymore!

You have sworn yourself away from Baked Doritos like 50 times now over the last 2 years! I think you’ll be ok as long as the binges don’t happen everyday! ;o) I beat myself up over stuff like that too. . .but you wouldn’t have this successful website and be 70lbs lighter if you didn’t keep track of it. . .so write the post, worry about it then, and then cut yourself a break, you lost 70 lbs and have kept it off for a LONG time now!
By the way, I noticed you have an Ann Taylor ad on your page! WTG on the publicity! I love that store and I’m sure they’ll get a lot of business advertising on here! :o)
Merry Christmas!

Like you, I know I can never, ever snack on any of those baked/100 calorie snacks. I really can’t be trusted. Those things throw me off track quicker than some really fattening, decadent dessert. I would be like the queen of the baked crack house if I even let myself have one bag.

I’m impressed that it was the Baked! I think I would have “accidently” purchased the Buffalo Wing and Blue Cheese combination!

I am just starting out on this weight loss journey. Instead of starting with WW I have been participating in a program offered through my local hospital. I have been doing great – last Tuesday i celebrated 51.5 pounds lost since September. I have been working hard, sticking to the diet, increasing my exercise and working all the homework, attending all the sessions and learning. I see all my old habits now. I see how much I ate, before I even sat down to eat. I see how I used food to compensate when I was hungry, tired, lonely, sad, happy, whatever the emotion, I had the craving for food to cope. Now, it has been 14 weeks and I am learning, but I am still so unsure of myself. I know that I would go buy those durritos and eat them. and eat them. and eat them. Will I ever find the will power?
I linked to your site from my site for Menu Monday Planning as I am stealing your Salisbury Steak recipe for my family. I modified it by adding a cup of chopped up spinach…yummy!

I need a note to self for last week! Yikes self, stay away from holiday baked goodies. You don’t need them and half the time you don’t even LIKE them!

My hubby’s weakness is popcorn which never tempts me. However once I take the first handful I mindlessly eat more. Stay away from popcorn…unless it’s air popped with no butter added =)
