The phrase I've had dancing around in my head this week is: "Progress not perfection" . . . so reading this post today was very timely!

Great quote Roni!! Thanks for sharing! The quote rings true.....what a much better mindset we would have if we could all fully embrace the quote into our daily lives!

Okay, I'm inspired to start losing again. Rather, I'm inspired to start trying to lose again. I am imperfect, never will be perfect, but who cares. I'd rather be authentic with all the little imperfections than perfect and bland. :)

Indeed, so true.

I have come back to your site once again as I start to fine tune my own imperfections yet again. Gonna try to get in front of the holiday eating etc this year and had to come figure out what my current daily point allotment is.

I will start doing video weigh ins again I think too as those are soooooo motivating. Still down 20 lbs from my high this time last year but up nearly 20 from my low/goal.

thanks for keeping this site active and alive. It's been a beacon for me for sure.

<abbr><em>Check out PGs last blog post..<a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/annoyinglyboring/~3/440598892/" rel="nofollow">Choo-Choo! (275/365)</a></em></abbr>

Roni, I think you have a very wise friend and interpreted his sentence very well, and two things and two persons came to my mind:

1. Julie Andrews and Susan Sarandon. They might have had small things done but they look their age AND great! And not like normed dolls whom you wouldn't recognize. They look like they have a personality and great spirit.

2. Those moments when you actually could smack yourself for having eaten that candy or fast food, but then you notice you feel really great, you won't drop dead, and you have made so many positive changes happen in your life already that you can afford to enjoy your belly full of candy. Because you know it does not mean candy will become a daily food group for you.

3. The line of that Bon Jovi song, "Welcome to wherever you are, this is your life, you've made it this far" always makes me feel perfect and thankful because it makes me realize that I have already gone for a long walk and that I have generally done a good job so far. No matter how many imperfections I have, I became 31 this year, and hopefully I will become 32 and even much much older. And the song makes me feel incredibly sappy even when I just think about it. ;.9

Love,
Nina

Roni,
Now you have hit the nail on the head. The botox, huge lipped hollywood women make me physically ill.. Yes, I would like to look the best I can for my age and be as healthy as I can, but don't take away what makes me, me. I have a rather large of strawberry birth mark on my left arm/hand. I would never dream of removing it. The imperfections are just perfect!

I was suffering from PMS right up to Hallowween....ughh.....so I did my damage before the big trick or treat ....
Saturday morning I put all my 6yr old's candy in ziplocs and hid them in a big tin.....
Told my son where they were and that he could eat it, but for the FIRST time EVER, I didn't tease myself by walking past it ALL DAY LONG...MINUTE BY MINUTE....taking a piece every time.
Its about change...sometimes I fail miserably, sometimes I get it, and when I DO get it?.....gotta share the small victories!

Great post Roni! I also didn't have such a good weekend. And although I am disappointed with myself, we just have to start fresh and not dwell on it. I had a very unfortunate 3am visit to IHOP after going out on Halloween...so not good.

I agree that there is lots of perfection in imperfection. I like you more because of your honesty on your blogs like many of the other readers.

You hit the nail on the head! If we were perfect all the time we would not be perfect. It's all the bad days that make the good days GREAT!

thanks Roni!

Reminds me of a quote from a speaker at a company meeting many moons ago. He said the perfection isn't so much about being "flawless" as about being complete.
