Awww, Irish is so cute! Watching your videos always makes me want a cat. Also wanted to say that I love your videos - I love to put them on my iPod and listen to them when I’m on the treadmill (except today when I actually watched it and saw Irish). Anyway, I liked your response to the first question about feeling guilty for eating all your points/calories. I find myself feeling guilty when I eat “all my calories” or when I have a small treat. Oh, and those Fiber One bars…I remember when you first posted about them - that did provoke some hilarious comments - I’m one of those that can’t even eat one of the bars without having issues.

Q1: I feel guilty if I even think about eating bad foods…sometimes it does not keep me from eating that food though. The other day I was craving chips….the husband and I walked down to the grocery store to get some. On the way there I admitted to him about how guilty I felt about going to get the chips and then planning on eating them later.
Q2: When I walk I don’t really stretch unless we are going to walk a long distance. Now that I am trying to jog every now and then I definitely stretch before and after.
Q3: I am definitely not motivated all the time. Although I do not tell everyone they should pay for a plan…I think they need to make sure to get all the information needed for a plan. Either count calories or do something that is long term if a person does not want to commit to the payments for some plans. Personally, since I am paying for the online services I feel the commitment to do a little better to get my money’s worth.
Q6: Oh ya…Fiber One bars are yummy. But that gas is crazy!

Hi Roni!
Great video as always! And for the re-quotation of letter excerpts: Get some text marker pens, girl! :D Just kidding, it was totally fine!
On motivation: I think this is really the hardest part and should be the absolute basic of your healthy habits, especially the motivation to get back on track after making a mistake. You also need to find a plan that has the right ideas about losing weight, and that do not only focus on the weight, but on general health and contentment, e.g. your website. Find a program that could be your best friend. It sounds weird, but for me diet programs have become like people. Some are really good friends who are concerned about your long-term health, most are like those interesting-at-first-sight attention-seeking friends who only want your best and give nothing back. And the more experience you get, you really start to want a diet that is a real long-term friend.
After all those years and with all those steps I still have to do it was so good to finally say, “I don’t deserve to be treated that way and to give all my money and energy away for people who actually cheat on me and give nothing back but crappy products. I am grown-up enough to take a closer look at my wishes (e.g. losing all the weight in one day) and see what’s really behind them, and look for a program which works.”
Another motivational tip for the beginning: get a free weight-loss newsletter like Roni’s e.g., or by ediets.com. I am getting their daily horoscope just for fun, but I can also read their other articles about healthy alternatives during the holidays, motivation etc. By reading about healthy living every day I cannot forget about it and always get to point when I want to change something else “into the right direction”.
On the fibre one bars: I don’t get them here, but had a similar experience with a high-fibre German alternative - you know - THE experience… I ate two of them and I think I did not drink enough water etc. I think fibres can cause these kinds of problems if you do not add enough water to wash them out. It’s a kind of fermentation process. Maybe there are other reasons, too. But I don’t want to get into this topic any further…
Lots of love,
Nina

So after reading the comments from other readers on the Fiber One bars, I looked up more info and found this website (http://www.urbanmonarch.com/product-review-fiber-one-chewy-bars-oats-chocolate/) with even more hilarious comments regarding other people’s experience with the bars. Well, my husband thought it was funny and he’s a daredevil/iron-gut man, so he bought a box of them today to see if it would happen to him. Sure enough, shortly after eating just one, he started to feel the gas pains and as the night has progressed the noise coming from his belly is unreal. Sounds like a warzone in there. Anyway, the kids and I are laughing because we can’t believe he’d eat that stuff after reading all the comments, but he just had to see for himself. LOL
