Ahhh yes the season begins! I’m in a rush today and I’m heading out for a wedding this evening but I wanted to wish everyone a happy day!

Remember….

  • Nothing is off limits but sometimes you can have TOO much of a good thing. :~)
  • Don’t let a few nibbles of candy throw off your whole weekend. Remember every choice is a new choice and you are ALWAYS on plan! Let’s vow NOT to utter the words… "I’ll just start on Monday”. because we ALL know ‘Monday’ will end up to be New’s Years before we know it.
  • And finally… HAVE FUN! That’s what it’s all about. Lose yourself in the holiday, don’t worry about your body and how you look. Make good choices and enjoy yourself! If you are feeling adventurous try my experimental pumpkin oatmeal bites! They may not taste as good as candy but hey, they have pumpkin in them! You can’t go wrong with pumpkin on Halloween. :~)

I’m off to pack. I *may* post about my crazy Saturday cookfest for the football game but at this point I’m anticipating I’ll be one tired momma. :~) So just in case I’ll leave you with 2 things for the weekend that may make you smile. :~)

Super cute pic :) Happy Halloween & thanks for the reminder that nothing is off limits, but there can be too much of a good thing!

  8. You are so, so right, Roni! Not throwing away a day or week or month makes so much of a difference. Nothing wrong with eating mashed potatoes or Christmas cookies, but it doesn’t work to decide that a day just doesn’t count. Every day counts.

My family always had a tradition of making a couple big vats of different low-calorie vegetable soups on weekends during the holidays. We would eat the stuff for lunches and dinners several times a week. It was delicious and seasonal, and it helped balance out all of the Christmas cookies that we had every intention of sampling.

Ryan looks soooo grown up in that picture!!!

I just read through some of the entries you’ve posted in the past week or two…I just wanted to say that although you always seem to have something going on, you hold things together very well (or at least that’s the way you appear on your blog). With taking care of your son and husband, and blogging, and book-writing (geeesh…losing all that work would have killed me!), etc… wow. :)

  11. Susan says:

Hmmm…I love pumpkin, I will have to try those treats!

  12. Annette says:

I think I needed to hear that today. I had a couple pieces of candy and piece of cake at a friend’s this afternoon. I was doing the mental kick in the rear on my way home. Now instead of beating myself up about it I think I’ll head to the gym. Thanks Roni.

  15. are you actually going to a wedding tonight, or is it this weekend? i almost got married on halloween 06, but we got married on 10/13/06 instead. have fun!

    Hey Roni~
I can’t believe what a big boy Ryan has become!!! I swear, something about this recent picture- he looks, well, like a big boy! The same thing is happening with my almost 4-year-old. Man is he starting to look so un-toddlerish. We’ve got to enjoy every moment, because it seems to fly by!

    Happy Halloween!

  18. Christy says:

    Ah, great picture!

  19. Nina says:

Love the Ryan vs. Pumpkin Biggest Smile pageant! Hope you had fun at the wedding, and hope you still have feet!

    Love,
    Nina

What a cute pic of Ryan – maybe he should be called “the kiddo” or something…

  22. roni says:

LOL – Guys, he’s only THREE! To me, he’ll be a toddler until 4. :~) Although I have been giving some thought to what I’ll call him in the future…

    the kid?
    the child?
    the boy?

Maybe I should have a poll! LMAO

  23. Mr. Meltdown says:

Love the pic! Did Ryan do that pumpkin art work on his own? Hope you had a great Happy Halloween! And before you ask, no I did not eat my Halloween candy, You know I am trying to stick to my diet.. :)
