<<>> Now that is outta the way. Anyways I am glad to hear someone else say what I have been trying to explain to my mom for a while. We are both doing WW's and live 1000's of miles apart. I keep saying that this is NOT a diet. I might be following a WW's plan, but my husband and I will continue to eat like this regardless of if I am on WW's or not. Even though I am losing my weight slowly I feel that I am making a healthy change for good. My mom on the other hand completely feels like this is a diet. She has lost at least 20 pounds but I feel like the minute she goes back to eating normal she will gain it back. She has more to lose so I hope she sticks with it. She also follows your site so I am glad to hear you talk about this.
**If we seriously want to be healthier (i.e. for most of us that means thinner) we need to be able to commit for life not just for the time being.** I have stressed and stressed this to her. I just hope she hears it.

Irish was super cute, btw. I love showing off my two cats on my site. Mostly in pictures though. Although my male cat did make an appearance in a quick "happy birthday" video for my mom. lol...her grandkitty wanted to wish her a happy birthday too.

I really liked what you said about not thinking of weight loss as separate from your life, and not thinking in terms of "dieting." After going on and off weight watchers so many times over the past 6-7 years, this time I have to look at things differently. It has to be a lifestyle change for me, or I will always be dissatisfied. I want to live a healthy life. I want my family to live a healthy life. This is it. We (my family) are all in this together.

Check out Jens last blog post..Rubio's Health Mex

WOW! First of all I have been reading your blog for two years now and LOVE it. Second I look forward to your video posts each week, they're great! Something you said in todays post struck me like a mack truck. . .when you said that you took it one day at a time to keep yourself motivated. You said that you knew you could stay on your points for that day, that's all you worried about! It's so simple and beautiful.
I will give you the Cliffs Notes version of where I am: same height as you, just about the same age, have put on FIVE pounds this summer that I am currently working on getting off. (I currently weigh 158) My problem is I binge eat, I don't know how to just have one cookie, or piece of chocolate etc. . .that's how my mom ate, it was all or nothing. Anyway I set aside these binge days where I would go crazy and eat whatever I wanted, no accountability. It has caught up with me even though I work out all the time. I LOVE to exercise that's not the problem, it's not binge eating every three days that I have to deal with. I have eaten clean and healthy for one week today and this is a huge milestone for me, and I was in a panic thinking about how I'm going to keep this up. Well, you just answered it for me. . .day to day!! You're so honest and real and I truly appreciate that, thanks so much.

long video, but good inspiration. i think a great motivator is having a friend or trainer push you along, or at least have someone you can compete with.

I know what it feels like when your weight loss is taking over your life. When I started out losing weight after the first month or so I started feeling depressed, and I became kind of alienated...I just had no desire to go out and no interest in doing anything. I would sleep a lot too, especially during the day. All of this lasted for about a week and half and then kind off started going away on its own. It might have to do with changing of hormonal levels, because fat cells produce hormones. With time, though, my body adjusted to the new situation (and my brain realised there's no way to fool me out of changing my lifestyle :)) so now I feel more energetic and I'm gradually feeling better and better.

Check out Innys last blog post..To exercise or not to exercise?

Congratulations on your weight loss! You look great! It's refreshing to see someone not promoting fad diets. I lost 40 pounds the right way as well...proper diet, exercise, and an appetite suppressant, Appetite Down. It really worked well for me. Good luck to everyone! ou help keep me motivated.

Re: "celebrate reaching goal"

I remember on one of my many thousand past diets talking to a friend about how when I hit goal I really wanted to go Schlotzky's and get this one particular sandwich that I really really liked. She said, "I can't believe after all you're putting yourself through, your reward is food!" I had to reply, "I'm just trying to get control of the food, not get cured of it."

Maybe I should have just bought a dress instead.
