I, too, have such a hard time accepting complements! I have lost 60 pounds, but when people tell me I look great, the first thing I say is "well, I still have 40 more to go," because I still feel fat a lot of the time. But I DO look better than I have in years (and am healthier too), and I just need to learn to smile and be gracious. Thanks for sharing. Love your recipes and blog!

Thanks so much for mentioning the shoe giveaway!

Will be sure to stay tuned for yours, it looks great. And a trip to the place they make fire and a couple of beers indeed sounds like an awesome way to finish up a perfect day.

Nicole - It all depends on HOW MUCH you eat at the portions are HUGE. I usually get the fried rice, noodles and a lean protein like scallops, shrimp or chicken. All you can do is estimate for how much you eat. No one really knows!! LOL

Do you have an estimate for how many points you would have counted for the Japanese steakhouse place? We are going to one next weekend and I'm wondering how many weeklies I'll need to save for it! I wish all restaurants posted NI online!

Roni,

This is a little off-topic for today (and quite long), since it refers to something you said in a recent video, but your words about how one meal is not going to make you fat (I'm paraphrasing here) rang in my ears all weekend. We are in Illinois, and we had record rains from Friday through Sunday. Besides not being able to use any plumbing due to the city sewers overflowing into our house pipes and not being able to cook/clean much, and having to deal with relatives in two different houses being flooded, pumping our own water from the crawl space, etc, it was a stressful and not-very-healthy weekend.

I'm not making excuses, but those were the plain facts. My sister is moving to Florida next Saturday, and this was our last weekend to do something together. The flooding halted our Corn Maze plans and almost stopped her from being here at all. Thankfully, we were able to save half the weekend. Instead of going to Maggiano's for an early dinner, reservations we had to postpone, then cancel, we got a Picasso pizza from a place here called Tortorice's, which is one of our biggest weaknesses. We had so much left over, and since I couldn't cook anyway, we ate that the next day, too. We had leftover turkey burgers and homemade veggie chili for lunch and dinner, in an effort to salvage what I could of my week.

This is the first week in 4 weeks that I've used more than half my extra points. I think I used them all, plus about 5 more. But it didn't affect the number on the scale, which I'm going to face tomorrow morning again for weigh-in. Today is the start of week 3 for my C25K, and I'm getting in all my liquids (plumbing is again okay to use!!!), so I'm hoping to cleanse out the yuckies from the weekend. Thanks for the sounding board...I know it's a bit long!
