Great post Roni! Instead of thinking "I can't have this.." I think "I can most certainly have this, but I just choose not to right now." It helps me take my power back.

I so agree. I was afraid this week to try non-deprivation mode, but I ended up losing 5.5 pounds even with some treats!

Love eating family meals. The girls and I eat sit down dinners together every night and my husband is there when he can be. We have a couple nights a week where the whole family eats together. We all miss it when we aren't together chatting and sharing dinner, even if it's just something simple.

This really is a good quote. Many people say that eating one meal together each day will also help a family....children will do better too.

Right now, I love when my husband and I go on really long walks. Sometimes we can be home for hours and not really talk to one another. But on our walks/hikes we chat the whole time. And we talk about SO much.

So true! And doesn't ice cream taste soooo good when you haven't had it in a long time? I had some a few weeks ago, before that it had been at least two months!

so true so true! you gotta incorporate/accept the typical "off plan" things into your plan in order to succeed b/c those "off plan" things are bound to happen. incorporating/accepting them and enjoying them won't make those times set you off on a roller coaster!

I love that post Roni! I never thought I could feel that way until recently. Before, I didn't trust that I could go out every blue moon and eat a reasonable portion of something restauranty without gaining weight or falling off the wagon. I was so intense before, thinking I had to watch every move or else I'd fail. Now that I reached my goal weight and it's sticking, I am learning that enjoying a restaurant meal here and there (a reasonable portion) is fine. It actually has made no difference! I am really learning the balance and how to enjoy myself when I do go out. It is such a relief to know that you don't have to be "intensely aware" forever- just smart and balanced.
