Roni,
you are truly a maintenance queen!!! Wonderful!!!
i wanted to share something that i've just started doing that i find "magical".

it's chewing food enough times that it becomes liquified in your mouth before swallowing. it's so hard to do.. lol.. but the last two meals i've had, i've tried this and here's what i found.

1. it's a little meditative. it forces you to slow down.
2. it makes you aware of the texture, tastes..
3. you get a hundredfold more enjoyment. satisfaction guaranteed lol.
4. you eat so much slower that it's easy to eat 20+ mins without overeating.
5. also you must be sitting at a table with no distractions e.g. tv, reading..etc.. your mind is completely on the meal you're having.
6. it feels like you're respecting your body and blessing it.

also, on another topic. i found a great "food find". it's miso soup!!!! if you get the "mellow white" variety and have a bowl of that (which in and of itself has been touted with reducing the chances of getting breast cancer - think japanese women) , it's really really satisfying. yes, it's high on salt..but not too bad :)
and the miso soup i'm talking about is not the "dry packet" kind.. i'm talking about the paste in your health food store in the refrigerated area.

this is probably not the place to post all this..but .. oh well. lol
i hope you get to read it

Congrats on maintaining! That's great considering all the changes you've been through this year (job switching, the new site, surgery, ramping up your exercise, becoming a runner, and I'm sure more that I don't know of).

I love what you say about your approach: control portions, stay active, face my feelings and keep making the best choices I can day after day!

Now that is wisdom!

Roni~
That's awesome! How reassuring it must be to see that after all this time, you are keeping it together- it shows you that you really are living the healthy lifestyle and it's become natural. You look great- I am impressed with all the working out! I have lost the weight and am keeping it off, but the working out hasn't kicked in to gear yet. Lately I am realizing that thin isn't enough- I want to be toned!! I've gotta find something that gets me motivated~

Your weight sounds perfect for your height :) You are doing super maintaining. Once I get to my goal weight, I am going to try to stay within about a 5-7 lb range in either direction. Chances are, you are much more fit at this weight than when you were 10 lbs thinner at goal since you are exercising now, eating cleaner, and building muscle.

Check out Annettes last blog post..Progress Photos/HYC Update/CC Xmas Challenge--Just a bit late :)

Man... I can't even imagine what it'd be like to maintain. I'm stuck in permadiet mode, that goal weight always just out of reach. (Well, okay, most of the time it's a lot more than "just" out of reach. In fact, just out of reach would suit me fine right now.)

Good for you for making it to a meeting. Good job on the maintenance. If I recall correctly, you've even lost a few pounds in the past few weeks, which is great. I'm sure all the running and boot camp sessions are helping.
