DD Smart Menu
September 2, 2008
The other day I found myself at a Dunkin Donuts. Did you ever think you’d read those words on my blog? :~) I was picking up donuts for the husband, don’t get me started, and I was hungry. UGH! Talk about temptation! Thankfully I was there after a run and honestly had no desire for a donut. But I was hungry, and that’s when I remembered DD Smart Menu.
I’ve been meaning to try an Egg White Veggie Flatbread Sandwich for weeks. Now, before I give you my review you have to understand my stance on fast food breakfasts. I hate them. I’m not kidding, there is something that grosses me out about fast food eggs. Plus they always pair it with cheese and I’m just not a fan of cheese and egg together. Yes, yes, I know, I’m crazy.
So where am I going with this? Oh yeah. Well, it was GOOD! I mean it. Cheese and all, I really liked this breakfast option. The egg white was firm, cooked through. The flatbread had a nice texture and flavor and I even didn’t mind the cheese slice! It wasn’t overbearing.
My biggest complain isn’t about the food but the fact that you can’t custom the order. I originally asked for no cheese but the sandwiches are pre-made so you don’t have a choice. Other then that and not being all nice and neat like the picture, it was a winner in my book. I can’t wait to try the Turkey Sausage one!
Here are my top picks from the menu. Be warned, don’t assume low points just because something’s on the DD Smart menu. The Reduced Fat Blueberry Muffin is still 8 points. Yikes! Makes me wonder about the “regular”! I don’t know about you but an 8 point muffin isn’t worth it. I’d rather have the egg sandwich and a tea with some fruit.
Oh! and don’t ask me why the veggie has more fat then the sausage, it makes NO sense to me!
| Item | Calories | Fat | Fiber | WWP |

OH YUM! I will have to check that out thanks for the tip! I agree on the typical rubbery cheese that typically comes on those fast food sandwiches! THANKS again RONI!

I tried the Turkey Sausage one last week, I enjoyed it! The veggie was good too, but for less points and more flavor (in my opinion) turkey sausage egg white flat bread wins it.

I tried this last weekend when the boyfriend drove through on our roadtrip. I was surprised how good it was. I ended up tearing off alot of the flatbread bc there was too much bread for too little egg. But it filled me up and i felt much better than I would have if i went for the donut…..
Thanks for giving the point values!

So this is dangerous! We have a DD opening up in our small town….in a few days. It is in the same strip mall that the gym is in! Geesh! Talk about temptation. Atleast now they have smart options.

Good to know! I just found out about these but haven’t gotten to try one yet. I’ll try to resist going to DD, but good to know there’s an option!

Amy - That’s a good question! They don’t say on there web site, I’m going to assume the smalls or “Regulars”.
