Re-commenting from another post....

CommentLuv - All my BlogToLose peeps, what seems to be happening is CommentLuv is picking up the latest community post not your post. I’m working on a fix for this. In the mean time if you don’t want the wrong link to show up just uncomment the check box. I will announce when I get it all straightened out.

Amanda & Rachel - Thanks for chiming in on the question! It totally slipped my mind to mention the whole "points anomaly"! That's what I call it anyway. :~)

I think I have an answer to the 24 english muffins question. I just blogged about it a couple days ago (mine was about 1 point ice cream sandwiches). My weight watchers leader once said that if you eat 2 servings of something, you shouldn't just double the points and assume that's right. For instance, when I eat one ice cream sandwich it's 1 point. But if I eat 2, and re-calculate the points using calories, fat, and fiber, it ends up being 3 points. If I eat 3, it's 5 points! This is because of the cap on fiber which keeps you from taking advantage of or "tricking" the points system. So say the english muffins have 100 calories, 1 gram of fat, and 3 grams of fiber. One of them is 1 point. But 2 of them are 3 points, 3 of them are 5 points, 4 of them are 8 points! That keeps you from eating way too many calories- because the most amount of fiber you can enter for all of those is 4 points. I hope this makes sense!

We just discussed this topic at a WW meeting! My leader told us this....
"A calorie eaten in the morning is the same as a calorie eaten in the afternoon." Clear as mud, right??

What makes it confusing is the way we journal our food. WW breaks their journals down into meals, which leads people to believe that each item eaten at a particular meal is counted as if you have eaten nothing else for the day. So on paper, 24 muffins should be 24 points, but when you figure that those 24 muffins were 2400 calories, 24g fat, and 120g fiber for the entire day, you've actually used 49 points!!

Keeping with what you said, 1 point equals roughly 50 calories, so if you get 24 points a day, you should be consuming around 1200 calories a day, which doesn't include the 200-250 calories that WW gives for 0 point veggies....Oh and don't forget those 35 weekly flex points!

Check out Berriess last blog post..I can........
