Roni- I sent an email question about nursing before I found this. Feel free to ignore it! Again, thank you so much for this site. Your feelings of wanting to be healthy for your child could have come from my own mouth. I don't want him to experience the struggles that his dad and I have had with food.

Roni, "Happy" sure isn't the word. I wish I could eat like a "normal" person, I just accept that I can't (yet? maybe never?). I hope for a day when I can; but, until then I am content.

Regi - If you are happy counting points by all means keep it up!! But I think as time goes on some of us want to see if we can apply what we learned without them. It's a personal choice. I know that what I learned by doing points will stay with me forever but that doesn't mean I have to associate points for everything I put in my mouth for the rest of my life. I look at the point system as a way to educate me, which it did but just like a math student who learned how to multiply by studying times tables I should be able to apply what I learned in future situations. Now I just *know* that 4 x 5 = 20 the same I *know* how much of something I should be eating.

Does that make sense? SO I don't think it's a big deal it's just that some of use want to apply what we learned differently then others. Some people may always need a calculator to tell them that 4 x 5 = 20 and that's ok too. Whatever works!

Roni, Love the websites. I get so much help & encouragement. God bless you. My comment/question is: Why do we have to "give up points"? I lost 145 lbs on WW and have maintained for over a year. I have an unhealthy relationship with food so I treat it like a medical condition and continually moniter my eating just like a diabetic takes care of their blood sugar level. I look at points the same way a diabetic looks at their blood sugar moniter and journal (yes they have to journal, too). I just figure this is what I have to do to be healthy, points are an easy comfortable tool. I have tried just doing Core plan etc, but if I knew where satisfied was I wouldn't have gotten to 291 lbs. I always inch up srevings sizes etc. Points just keep me AWARE (like MIZFIT says). Cognitive eating is something I can't do on my own. I figure that, just like diabetics need tool and addicts need a program, so do I. Why NOT just use my tools (points) to stay healthy? What's the big deal? I like your approach of REFLECTING ont the day, stll keeps you aware.

Hi Roni! Just wanted to say that you have given me such hope for a normal eating life in the distant future! I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about how many points they added on maintenance and really I was thinking that I would get an extra 2 or 4 points. I love your Q & A's and BTL. Thanks for using your journey to help me along mine!

Hi Roni! Thanks for answering my question! Contrary to what you were thinking, you were such a big help. Even though you are in my computer (lol), I felt like we were having a real conversation. I am going to take your advice and focus on reflection rather than pre-planning. Thanks again!
