Hi Roni,

Thank you for another great video!

One of the things that works for me when I am trying a new food item is to find a recipe that uses that new item but is otherwise made up of food that I love!

For example, I was afraid to eat collard greens and I still don't like them raw, but I wanted to try them again. So I found a soup recipe that had collard greens in it and every other ingredient was something that I really like so it was easy to have the collard greens be a small part of the dish. It turns out I liked it, so now I look for other things with collard greens.

Not very many people can switch from eating processed foods to fresh foods right away, and it's okay to take it slow. This method has worked for me, and over the years I have noticed that I enjoy the variety of vegetables and grains that I try.

<abbr><em>Check out Zoeys last blog post..<a href="http://www.zoeyskitchen.com/2008/09/enchilada-casserole.html" rel="nofollow">Enchilada Casserole</a></em></abbr>

I really liked the question about the veggies...since I've started dating my bf i've incorporated so many veggies into my lifestyle...suches as olives, onions, and mushrooms...i've learned that I just need to eat certain veggies one way..and just b/c I don't like them in one meal doesn't mean I don't like them at all...for instance..i don't like raw onions either..however if its a red onion i can handle it raw...and mushrooms i love..just not in eggs..i'm working on that though...

i also can't seem to get peppers to be one of my favorites..i don't mind the taste..its more of a texture thing for me..but i'm working on it...i notice a lot of recipes have peppers in it...so we'll see maybe i'll come around to liking them...

Oh MY! I can't believe you answered my question Roni! It is really an honor! Thank you so much for your advice. I know I probably won't do too bad since it's part of my routine...but I was still skeptical if you know what I mean. I live in Florida but I plan on going to Seattle so I can walk everywhere. No cars are needed and every place is in walking distance. I LOVE it!

Thank you guys so much for your support. It's still shocking to me how much weight I've lost. Roni...your blog influenced so much of what I do now and I appreaciate all your advice. People are always laughing at how much spinach I put on my sandwiches. Not to mention, Spaghetti squash is now my best friend. lol Well I could give you a list of things that I do now because of your wonderful site but just know that you've helped me a lot. Thank you thank you thank you! :) :) :)

~Ideanna (You're one of the few people who didn't pronounce my name as Illiana. lol The "I" is short like "Igloo" and the "a" is like "apple.")

Here are some suggestions for the person who is going to college...
First of all- AMAZING weight loss- nice job!!!

College dining halls tend to have salad bars and you can try to be creative with adding chicken or other meats to a big salad. Typically there is a lot of fruit in dining halls too.

Remember that "brothy" soups like chicken noodle are not that bad for you.

Subs can be low in points... think subway 6 inch low point subs... your dining halls may have subs that would make low point options.

Sandwiches... again.. most dining halls have them.

Cereal is always available in dining halls- not a bad lunch and it's countable.

Looking back at college, there were a lot of healthy options in the dining hall, I just didn't chose them. Keep your portions reasonable and chose things that are lower fat.

Ordering out can be tough when everyone else is doing it.. if you order chinese, some of the soups are low points. Pizza is ok if you can keep the portions low.

In your room, you can keep cereal, oatmeal, 100 calorie packs, etc.

If you have a mini fridge... try to keep yogurts, fruits, veggies, etc. in it.

I know it's overwhelming and people order out a lot, but the dining halls can have a lot of healthy options if you look for them and you can keep the ordering out to a minimum.

For the beer... just try to do light beer, push your water on nights where you drink, and don't over do it.

Congrats on the weight loss and good luck in college :)

Roni- thank you so much for answering my questions. I had addressed the issue on my blog and didn't get any "real" answers besides the 'give it time' and 'muscle weights more than fat' observations. It really makes me feel good to know that you noticied the same thing. I have finally started noticing that some of my clothes are fitting loser and I definitly am not giving up that easily! Thank you again for all of your inspiration and dedication to your 'followers!'

Thanks for another great video. I was excited when I saw the first question, even though I'm way past the freshman year anymore. I would recommend having healthy snacks that make you feel satisfied in your dorm room because that can cut down on a lot of extra snacking that wont be as healthy. I'd also recommend if you ever want a food like pizza, order it with friends so you can share it and still enjoy a slice or two. One thing that i think college students do a lot is eat a lot at one time but dont eat enough in between which makes it much eaiser to eat all the junk. try and keep some food with you so your not starving when you enter the caf.
