Ask Roni _v09s1 – On again off again dieting, Cravings, Shopping and How I Began
September 11, 2008
Here’s the first session of the videos I recorded yesterday. I’m still working on the iTunes Podcast issue. I needed to set up a whole other feed for them which means my old iTunes page will not longer be relevant and I lose all my reviews. :~( It’s a long strange, frustrating story that I don’t want to bore you with. I hope to have it all straightened out by the end of the day. I’ll post about it when I do!
Topics in this video include…
- On and off again dieting
- Craving Fat
- Where do I shop?
- How did I begin? Flex or Core
Links mentioned in the video or that you may be interested in…
- Older article on craving fats
- Old Navy
- H&M
- My old response to the workout question (MAN I changed a lot)

You look fabulous in the video Roni!!! New poster behind you?? You are truly an inspiration!!!
Just like you said “every choice is a new choice” and because of that I stay motivated…because I have realized from reading your blog..that no matter what…life goes on..and I still need to enjoy living my life..but that I can still make healthy decisions…and if I make a “bad choice” that I can move on and make a new choice later that day…to stay motivated…
Have a great day and thanks again for these videos..i love them..every one of them..even when the questions don’t apply to me.

I had to pause the video and comment on your answer to question #1!!! OMGoooodness!! I just had a major epiphany. Your answer to the question is right on! I was so impressed by the way you articulated that vicious cycle. You’ve heard it explained in terms of a lifestyle..blah, blah, blah, but I just love the way you explained it and never used the term “lifestyle” that has become a meaningless cliche! This was so awesome and so motivating and so logical. You’ve helped me understand it on a new level! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t use enough exclamation points to communicate my excitement over my epiphany. AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup. It was a gag gift for my birthday and I thought it would be fun to change it up a bit. :~) Some readers/watchers were waiting for it, I hinted in the comments on the last video.

That’s the first thing I noticed…new poster….after noticing how absolutely terrific you look! You always look great though!
Those were some great questions and number one really put it into perspective on how this healthy journey has to be forever….not just on and off! Gosh, why did it take me 38 yrs to figure that out?!

For the poster who has lost weight and is looking for new stuff, I highly recommend hitting outlets like Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Gap, JCrew, etc. they tend to have trendy stuff, but not young trendy and also are reasonably priced. I also would suggest you hit the regular stores and shop their sales.

Another good video with good information. Don’t forget about the Aldi’s food list. I want to prove to my mom that she can be on WW’s and shop at Aldi’s. She claims she will spend too much if she is on a diet…haha.

Roni, I have been a long time reader/fan of you and your blog but I have never commented before. I am new to Blog To Lose as well and I finally am commenting because you really hit the nail on the head for me when you talked about the fact that there is no on plan or off plan. We are always on plan. Thank you! The lightbulb has finally gone on and I am making this a lifestyle not a diet! As always, you are an inspiration.

I think target and kohls are great places to shop because they have designers who work with them so its a bit fashion forward but also not too expensive. A lot of the clothes in their women departments are cute and not too expensive.
It was a great video Roni! Do you use a certain type of makeup? Your skin looks amazing.
