30 miles in 30 days

That was a goal I set a few weeks back to help prepare for the Baltimore Maryland Relay. I can’t believe I reached it! I guess it’s not that far fetched with all the running I do in boot camps. I have been running fairly consistently but haven’t been doing the distances I wanted to prepare for the race. I’m hoping to get a 50 minute run in this Sunday.

I’m signing off, need my rest for boot camp tomorrow morning!

Cool! I signed up for a independent study jogging course. 140 miles in 4 months. It’s a great challenge! Congrats on the goal!

Congrats on hitting your goal. Goals are really important because they drive many of us.

Do you already have your next running goal in mind?

    Way to go!
Your little jogger dude up top is great. Did you use a chart of some sort to track your running? Is it something you can please link for us? I just bought a treadmill yesterday (yay me!) and I would like to chart what I do. Thanks

Christy – My goal right now is to just prepare for the 6 miles in the marathon relay. I just want to finish without stopping!

Jan – The chart is from the Nike+ website. They allow you to set goals and automatically track your progress when you sync with iTunes. Here’s my link about it… http://ronisweigh.com/2008/06/nike-ipod-sport-kit-review.html

Good for you! It is amazing to go from sitting all the time to running like 10 miles in a week huh! I’m addicted too! Just curious because I got my first comment about this last week. Someone said, “I hear you are running now. Do you really think it will last or is it just a phase?” I was speechless, of course I got these comments with my weightloss too from people who were friends, but got mad because I was getting healthier. Have you (or anyone else here) heard these comments, and what exactly do you say? THANKS!

    Hi Roni,

Congratulations on reaching your running goal!

This is sort of unrelated, but are you still doing the push up challenge? If so, how is it going?

Your motivation for exercise is inspiring, thank you for sharing it with us!

My question has nothing to do with your article…I was reading points and pounds and she mentioned a chicken dinner that was on your old site but did not get transferred over…She said it reminded her of a crabcake only chicken…Any thoughts on posting this dish. Love your articles…You have helped me to lose 25 lbs. Thanks so much.

christine – I have NO idea what she’s talking about! LOL I have tons of chicken recipes i ported over to GreenLiteBites (http://greenlitebites.com/tag/chicken/) but one that’s like a crab cake is slipping my mind. See if you can get better description. In the mean time I’ll look through my offline archives.

Zoey – I had to take a break. I was doing so many push ups in boot camp my arms were like rubber bands by the end of the day! I plan on picking it back up though! I’ll keep you posted!
