This weekendss quote comes from a comment left by Annette on my Question of the Week post, Do you Workout on Vacation? I thought it was fabulous analogy!

I am starting to look at exercise like brushing my teeth. I need to do it on all sorts of levels…….energy, heart health, continued weight loss, stress reduction…it has become a part of my day, almost everyday. I wouldn’t go a day without brushing my teeth, so why shouldn’t I give my body the attention I give my teeth?

    Yeah, that IS a really good way to look at it. I feel similar. Every morning I hop out of bed, weigh myself, go to the gym. No questions asked or decisions to be made.

    I must admit it is becoming more and more of a habit! I like to have it done and over with by 11:00 a.m. and that way i don’t have to worry about trying to fit it in later ;) Actually i’m really enjoying it!!

  5. That is a good way to look at it. Sometimes though, if I’m really tired, I brush my teeth REALLY FAST, just to get it over with.

    That is a great way of looking at it. I too need to get motivated on the exercise front! Last week we talked about this in our WW meeting and how we have to change our mindset from something we have to do to something we want to do. I just can’t seem to get there.

    Roni, can I just say I was so excited when you responded to me on twitter!! You’re such a rockstar!!! I would so get your autograph if I met you in person.

    I’ve heard this anaology too and it makes perfect sense. You don’t “take a break” from other healthy habits, like brushing your teeth, washing your hair, etc. while on vacation, so why would you “take a break” from tracking your food choices or exercising.

    BTW, I’m from Buffalo originally, so I’ve been stuck in that airport many a time. Sorry I didn’t see your message to chat on Blog to Lose while you were stuck there. I hope you didn’t eat anything there. The wings in the airport are definitely sub par. If you are going to spend three points per wing, they need to be good! There is a little place there that sells a decent wrap sandwich, yogurt, fruit and some other semi-healthy stuff. Next time you are stuck in the Buffalo airport, check it out! It is, of course, right next to the wing place!
