A really active weekend does not give you permission to stuff your face! What happened to your weekly commitment?

  1. once again you are reading my mind/channeling MY struggles, LOL! i had a crazy active weekend and did fine foodwise until sunday afternoon; then all-snacking-hell broke loose! but i actually stopped myself at about 6:30pm and vowed to get back on track and will only have lemon water the rest of the night!

  2. I guess I’m guilty of snacking too, although for weird reasons. Yesterday I promised myself I’ll go a whole day without eating any sugar (I love sweets) and ate only meat and veggies whole day. It was not that hard to abstain from sugar but in the middle of my carbless day my body started feeling weird. I was VERY lightheaded, and my stomach felt kinda swollen and watery, it’s very hard to describe with words. I had a genuine, primeval craving for sugar, my head was screaming “Sugar!” and it was hard to focus on anything. I did not eat sugar that day, because I promised myself and giving in would only make me feel worse. Today I had 8 points worth of cookies for breakfast, I calculated them as I ate them. Not so bad, but the whole sugar experience scared me. Is it normal to crave it so much? Or am I just some sugar addict going through abstinence? I won’t deprive my body like that again but I’m seriously worried something is wrong with me.

  3. Are you making sure to have something with a little carb and protein after the hard runs you are doing (plus water)? Sometimes you get snacky when you don’t replenish.
    Just a thought.

  4. You know, I’m really going to food journal this week to check on myself. I really don’t know how to account for all this activity! :~)

    Thanks for the advice!
