Note to Self…
August 7, 2008
You do NOT need that night time snack. You are just trying to keep yourself awake. Admit that, accept you can’t get everything done today, go to bed and GET SOME SLEEP!
You’ve been snacking WAY to much late night, see the problem, break the pattern, habits are too easily formed. YOU KNOW THIS.

Amen, sister! The last couple of nights I’ve been popping really strong sugarfree gum like Dentyn Ice to keep my mouth occupied and it has helped.

OMG! You read my mind. Late night eating is my ongoing battle–and the only thing standing between me and those last 5 lbs. And mainly because it is a habit and I am just tired. My tiredness is really good at pretending it is hunger! If I could I would print out your post and paste all over my kitchen cabinets. Unfortunately my roomies (who are naturally underweight!) would not appreciate it at all. I will book mark it though.
Thanks for everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm. I never thought about it that way. I’ve been struggling with late-night eating … I snack when I get off work (after midnight). I knew it was a bad habit, but I didn’t think it was because I was trying to stay awake. Could be though.
Anyway, it’s Day 4, and I’m post-work-snack free! Maybe I’m on my way to licking the problem.

amen on the habits.
when I sold my studio and started writing full time I ‘habited’ myself into saddlebags by eating at the computer.
NO JOKE.

Yup! Me too. Too much night time snacking = being on the verge of backsliding. Not good.
I will not go too hungry if I don’t eat that extra food at night. I will be okay. Must stop now.

This is one habit I’m also trying to break. I don’t know why, but I feel like I need a snack after dinner, even if I’m not actually hungry. Habits are so hard to break though!

My snacking happens as soon as I sit down at my desk at work. I seem to think I need to eat all morning!!!! Even though I had breakfast and I am not hungry. I have made a new rule though, if I have to pay for it at work, I will not eat it. This will at least keep me away from the vending machine and eating the healthy snacks that I brought.

Personally I need a mini-snack. If I have points left, then I deserve it! Just a 2 or 3 point snack nothing too crazy! :) Everyone deserves a treat!

I don’t think anyone needs to eat at night unless they are planning a very intense work……sorry hubby, not tonight ;)
