My Favorite Bootcamp Workout (so far)
August 2, 2008
I think I mentioned this last week, but I’ll say it again, my new favorite gym workout is BOOTCAMP! Seriously, it’s fun. We do a variety of activities, it’s different every class and the girls there are so nice.
So far out of of all the things we’ve done (I’ve only been to three classes mind you) I found the push/crunch routine the coolest. Here’s the deal…
Start with 10 push-ups (any way you can do them – Challenge yourself!)
Then do 10 crunches
Then 8 push-ups
8 crunches
6 push-ups
6 crunches
4 push-ups
4 crunches
2 push-ups
2 crunches
The fact that you do less and less each time gives you a such a sense of accomplishment because it gets easier and easier but at the end you’ve done 30 push ups and 30 sit ups! Too easy? Start at 14, or 20! Want even more variation? do different types of crunches each time it’s “crunch” time.
Try it and let me know what you think!

I totally agree with you. I have been doing bootcamp off and on for about 3 years and I find that it gets you do way more reps than you would do on your own. It’s fabulous!!

Roni,
I haven’t done this in a long time but you reminded me of a similar workout I have done in the past. I did this with a trainer as I needed the assistance but it works-
1 pull up
2 push up’s
2 pull up’s
4 push up’s
3 pull up’s
6 push up’s
4 pull up’s
8 push up’s
5 pull up’s
10 push up’s
6 pull up’s
12 push up’s
8 pull up’s
14 push up’s
9 pull up’s
16 push up’s
10 pull up’s
You get the idea- I do not remember where to stop – I think 16 and then work your way back down. This is is the goal–not something that can be reached the first time or each time. But you get the idea and it can be varied. I needed the assistance for the pull up’s –putting my feet on their quads—but you can benefit from the decline part going down slow and controlled. Just wanted to pass this idea on as I know you like challenges and I think I may combined this with the crunches!

10 pull ups! I’d definitely need assistance! Thanks for another variation!

Dear Roni,
I agree I have nothing but good things to say about cardiocore, I lost almost 70lbs and 36″ in one year from doing bootcamp. I couldn`t run 100yrs and in that year I completed 2 1/2Marathons and Around the Bay. keep up the good work and share your experience and let everybody know it is attainable to everyone. I love the workouts and how they inspired me and let me know it was going to be ok. CCBC helped me challange my mind body and innner soul.
