I should be sleeping but I find myself with a food journal and the need to share a few links before bed.

  1. I’ve been wanting to share this link every since someone (sorry I can’t remember who) shared it with me a few days ago. It’s a great article on some of the benefits of running. Very fitting for my new found hobbie!
  2. The second link is an online kids game the toddler and I played today. Other mom’s may be aware of Lazy Town, it’s a very odd show on Nick Jr. I say odd because it’s half puppet half human actors and that always kind of freaks me out. Anyway, we were looking for some online games and came across Superhero Challenge. I thought it was just perfect for the toddler. It’s a board game style so we got practice taking turns, counting and just overall learning how games work. As you play, you have to do physical activities like jumping splits and knee lifts. It was a lot of fun and kept his attention while we got some activity in!
  3. The third link is an article I wrote awhile back. I think I forgot to tell you that a few of my posts will be shared on EmpowHER.com as I am now an contributing blogger there. I’m not going to go crazy as I don’t have much time but my plan is to rework some of my more “article” style posts and share them in that new arena. The first one I chose was Dieting Made Me Fat – 7 Tips to a Healthier Lifestyle.
  4. Finally, I saw a great blog post today that I just wanted to share. Once Upon A Dieter shares her latest fatfighter tool and I just thought it was an awesome post!

OK, I gotta run. Crunches then bed for me!

Thanks for the links, Roni. The running article helped alleviate some of the concern I’ve been having about my ability to run without causing myself injury once I start the C25K program on Monday. Though it dealt with people much older than I, it made me realize that should I start now in my 30s, I’ll only have that much longer to benefit from running.

Loved your article on Empowher. I love what you said, if I may quote you: “No matter what you do today tomorrow is coming so you might as well do what you can to better yourself.” This is how I feel. If you’re going to be here a week or a month or a year from now anyway, why not do what you can do to get healthy? It might seem like a long way to go, but you’re going there anyway, might as well do it the right way. It’s what I tell myself when it seems that the weeks drag on and the weight comes off slowly.

Thanks again for a great site!

    Hey Roni~
Thanks for sharing the game “superhero challenge”~ I agree that the Lazy Town show is sorta strange, but that game is super cute! My 3-year-old and I did it and got quite a kick out of it- what a great what to get some activity in!!

    Hi Roni,

I am the one who sent you the link on the benefits on running. Thanks for passing it along on your site. I have been running 20 plus years and rarely miss a day, so at age 38 I am very happy to see the results of that study. Also, thanks Krista for that link for tracking running distance…i am anxious to try that out!
