I do workout on vacation -- except when I don't. And I don't only if I'm tired (usually from being active anyway). I like it that it's a change of pace from my normal routine.

Yes! I always work out on vacation. In fact, 2 of my vacations have been riding a bike in Europe with my husband. This summer we rode bikes from Venice to Florence, Italy. Two years ago we rode bikes from Salzburg to Vienna, Austria. We had so much fun, got to eat anything we wanted, and didn't lose a pound with all that riding, but didn't gain any either! :)

Always try to workout on vacation - great to try different gyms. Exercise needs to become part of your daily routine, even when away.

Tips for Exercise Success:

• Choose FUN activities
• Choose a variety of activities to keep it interesting
• Choose a convenient time and place
• Exercise with a friend
• Surround yourself with supportive people
• Use music or TV as a distraction
• Don’t overdo it!!====You will be in PAIN!!!
• Reward yourself! (But NOT with high calorie treats!!)

I love to workout on vacation. Usually I get enough from just walking around seeing the sights but I still go and lift weights. When I travel for work I spend every night working out since I don't have kids, hubby, household chores to distract me from doing it.

only if its on a cruise ship and they have a weight lifting place @_@ You dont go on vacation (at least i dont) to work out... you go to relax. but since cruise ships offer so much food, it feels nice to be able to work some of it off and then relax in a pool/spa.

On my last vacation, I made use of the meager hotel gym every day, but I also took full advantage of all the opportunities to walk, because the place we went was a metropolitan area. There are some vacations that have more opportunities for incidental exercise than others.

We're going to Perth, Australia for 3 weeks next month (It's our 10th Wedding Anniversary) and have decided not to hire a car. This way we'll walk more, use public transport and get to see more. In the past I've found that I eat more healthily when we're away and I've usually come home and maintained my weight at the very least, sometimes even lost! Last year we were in Las Vegas for 2 weeks and I lost 4 pounds from walking and weights (read weights as 'carrying all the heavy bags of stuff we bought'!)

hi roni, i DID workout on vacation AND while i was traveling for business recently (well only once before hurting myself, but STILL) AND i missed my ww weigh in for 3 weeks due to vacation/work travel and was THRILLED when i stepped on the scale and had only gained a QUARTER of a pound. i really think staying active helped a lot, because i was not really OP. so, fitting in workouts was easier than staying within points AND it paid off at the scale for sure!

I just had a mini vacation and worked out ......this is new for me. I am starting to look at exercise like brushing my teeth. I need to do it on all sorts of levels.......energy, heart health, continued weight loss, stress reduction...it has become a part of my day, almost everyday. I wouldn't go a day without brushing my teeth, so why shouldn't I give my body the attention I give my teeth?
