you should give the tupperware fridgesmart containers a try!! I have kept grapes and bag salad for 3 weeks in them. They stay as crispy as the day you bought them. Hope you will try them out!!

Another tip for produce:
Find out when the produce section is stocked with the freshest food. Depending on the store this may be daily, but some get shipments less often and just pull from the back room when they need stuff. I prefer to shop Tuesday or Wednesday morning at my store. They do get fresh food in every day there but I find the best on those days (maybe because its mid week, the weekend there are way more shoppers to get to the produce first).
Also some fruit can be kept longer in the fridge and then brought out to your fruit bowl mid week. The best are usually apples and pears for this. I eat the most perishable fruit first. Does anyone else do this?

I'm a red wine fiend, can't live without it. I usually block off 10 flex points at the beginning of each week (I'm on core) for a night out and put my 30 minutes on the eliptical every day towards a glass of wine with dinner. It's working for me. Cutting out so much sugar/white flour, now that I'm doing Core, has really curbed my sugar cravings and made me way less hungry at night, so my daily indulgence is that glass of red wine. I earn the points with exercise and enjoy every last drop...and I've been consistently losing every week. Having that little cash of flex points in case a friend calls and wants to go out for a drink also helps.

First time I've seen your column. Interesting. However, regarding ALCOHOL /Weight Gain..........Liquor may or may not increase your weight!
In 2 previous bad marriages, where my EX's watched my weight like Hawkes, I maintained 117 lbs @ 5'6" by living off 'Grey-Hound' Drinks, (that's Vodka & Grapefruit Juice). Never drunk, never a sick day off work, never binged, just extremely THIN, & extremely unhappy with my marriages etc. Then after 30 yrs of wondering where a young man I'd met at 16 yrs of age, was, and he the same of me, we found each other, A-1 health, then BAM, we were both hit severely with permanent Grand-Mal Seizures, and from what? ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION for those 30 yrs.
And if you think my life sounded bad before, my beautiful hubby of only 3 yrs, passed away 16 mos & 13 days ago ! AND, the medication that I must stay on for the rest of my life......oh ya, that's forced my weight to increase like it never did..........!!!
So, Lovely Lady's & Gentlemen, PLEASE please consider the risk you will/may/are taking, every time you have a drink. Cause once it hits you, there's NO turning back !

Hey Tricia~ I had also heard mixed reviews on the greenbags, but I was so desperate to find a way to save my produce, I had to try them. I can't speak for everyone, but the bags have worked for us very well. They work best for veggies- I twist tie them closed tight and store them in the fridge. Works like a charm!

Hi Roni,

I recently found your blog and love it -- you're so inspirational! And I especially enjoy your videos -- keep 'em coming!

I'm on a weightloss journey of my own (I've lost about 30 pounds so far, and have about 15 more to go) and initially found cutting wine out of my life fairly difficult. I would allot some of my daily calories to a glass with dinner. However, once I realized that for those calories I could have food -- real, honest to goodness, filling my belly food, it was much easier to give up that alcohol. I still have a glass on occassion, but usually, if I think to myself, would I rather have the wine or a nice crusty piece of bread, the bread will invariably win. :)

I have been told the green bags do not work at all. They reviewed them on Good Morning America, and said it was a gimmick. Hmmm...maybe I will have to try them for myself. Thanks for posting ladies.
