Hi Roni.
thankyou for doing your site and I know you've heard this before but I need to say it..your site I think is the biggest thing after the ww plan that has helped me get to goal and stay there. I'm at goal 1 year and up a few 1bs..maybe 3 and I'm working at staying there. I saw your stats when you were in the 130's and 5'9" and I'm in the 140's 5' 6" and I thought wow shes trying to stay lower that I could so to hear you say on the podcast you are more about a healthy lifestyle than a number. I'm so like you when it comes to the losing mode where I'm 100% focused but we cant do that forever.
I lost 50 1bs and I feel like I should lose a few more so I'm working on that but I dont want to drop a clothes size as I'm a 4 reg and 6 petite. My stomach after 2 kids and middle age is the last thing to go. Luckily I never needed surgery but if I needed it I would be scared of the pain..your very brave.
I know you've said no more kids but you and your hubby are such wonderful people we need more Ryans in this world. Thankyou for sharing that part of your life too.

thank you so much for answering my question, and for saying i'm cute! i was so excited!! you answered my question really well, and you've given me a lot to think about. i really do love my blog and i do spend a lot of time on it, so thanks for noticing that! and what you said on that last question about how you thought you were a planner, but you're more of a long term planner, i'm exactly the same way. i might not plan my whole day or my video posts or things like that, but for instance i know exactly what i need to do to graduate with my BBA by spring of 2011. so i mean i plan but i don't. if that makes sense. i do plan my menus for the whole week, but it's easy for me because the husband works graveyard, so i only cook for myself, and he cooks for himself. i kind of hope i'll have all of these habits down before kids come into the mix and i have to start planning for more than just me!

Awesome post Inny! Something that also keeps me motivated is, like you said, making time to do the right thing. I saw a t-shirt the other day at the grocery store for Gold's Gym, it sayd "I made time, not excuses". It's totally my new phrase now! I always put everything ahead of getting in shape, work, school, being too tired, etc. Now before i go to bed every night, I ask myself "what do I want to do for exercise tomorrow"? It's the first thing I do when I get up so that way I am not too tired after work. It really does help me make the right food decisions all day long.

That was a great comment about motivation. I believe that the number one thing that will help someone stay motivated is to make weight loss (and healthy lifestyle) a priority, something that is equally and even more important than how busy you are at work or at home or how BADLY you want this brownie. I'm a college student, so up until six months ago I was so busy with all the classes and extracurriculars I barely got enough sleep, save for trying to live a healthy lifestyle. Back in my head I knew I needed to make some changes, but couldn't I start eating healthy tomorrow and have the french fries in the cafeteria today? Then one day when I have gotten to the point of being 5"2', 154lbs and miserable, I realised I was not being fair to myself. I never put off doing homework for tomorrow, so why put off eating right. I go to work every day, but I will miss the gym if I feel like it. I told myself: a healthy weight and a healthy lifestyle have to become a priority for me. My health means to me more than anything else (excluding family and bf of course, but in a way by taking care of myself I am being a good example for them and for my future children). The funny thing is, once I started eating right the way I look did not make me miserable anymore, because I knew I was doing something about it, and all I needed was to put my own well being first for once. So for everyone who lacks motivation ask yourself: what is it that you think is more important than your health and happiness at the moment? It is really more important? And yeah, every now and then my brain tricks me somehow into eating that brownie and then I ask myself: What is more important: that I slipped once or that I have stayed a whole month on plan and that I should strive to make it through another month. Once you make it a priority, you don't think you can't, you just give your best. Anyway, I think I rambled too much, sorry for that, but my own experience is all I can use as an example to make that point: Make it a priority!

I am a weekly planner but keep my options open. When I grocery shop I write down 5 meals that I want to have that week but leave the day open for when I will eat them. It really depends on my mood what I want. I think it would drive me nuts to shop like Roni does :-) Otherwise, I dont mind the length of the videos. I watch them while I get ready for work, its a good way to start my day off. Thanks!

I love your response on how to stay motivated. I have been thinking about how it will be when I reach my goal. I don't want to stress over maintaining an exact number but rather a healthy weight range. I have noticed so many that have reached their goal go nuts if they are even 1 pound over their goal. Our bodies are constantly changing with age, muscle mass, etc. and trying to stay at one number would seem to be an impossible goal. It seems like after all the hard work, it's time to live, like you said, and just continue with your healthy habits. I think this answer in particular speaks to so many who worry every day about a pound or even .6!
