This video covers the following topics…

  • Motivating someone else?
  • Best weight for my height?
  • After school snacks
  • How did I lose weight so fast?

Again, not sure if this will work but click here for the video and if it doesn’t I’ll emed when I get back.

I came across your blog from mizfit’s. You have some awesome stuff here! I just started my journey and am so inspired by all of you. I just watched your pizza video. Your son is adorable! I made pizza with my kids last weekend and we tried thinly sliced zucchini on top with the other healthy toppings..it was wonderful~ making pizza at home is so fun, not to mention economical and nutritious. Thanks for sharing ;)

  3. I am ADORING these videos. Something that is always missing with blogs is emotions. We all obviously try to convey emotions but it doesn’t always come through. I loved seeing you laugh, nearly cry, etc. It just makes a blog that much more endearing.

I’m so glad to hear that your husband is finally getting on board. I laughed that it took 3 years of watching you going through your journey! My husband is finally after 1 1/2 years going to the gym more, and eating baked chips with his salsa, so I can totally relate!!!

    Another great video, Roni!

I feel very lucky to have found this site. I am just starting my journey, and I’m not the type of person to post a website or blog, but I have to say that I’m enjoying the heck out of yours!

I’ve tried a couple of your recipes and they are to die for. With regard to the “lead by example”, I’ve got the opposite situation–my husband is a bit of a health nut, and that’s how he chooses to be supportive. Let me tell you, Roni, the “lead by example” idea really works!

just a thought for the lady with the new baby that wishes she was losing faster.

My weight loss took 2 years almost exactly. And I DID work on TONE the whole way down – and the plus of this is that my skin and flab DID “soak up” as I lost.

Not a bikini wearing body – but no folds or hanging pockets around my thighs or butt or abs. I have a flat tummy now. And I think that the slow, steady loss and the concentration on tone helped with this. There are plus points to losing slowly for some people. (I ended up with pockets of excess skin on my chest wall under my arm pits – that is my only ICK area and it hides easily with clothes.)

Also the lady with the new baby can easily do pilates type tone work at home tending the baby. And she can put the baby in a front pack and WALK. Exercise does not have to be the gym for her. she does not have to wait – can work slowly and build up.

I am 47 with 3 kids and 5′ 6″ and was 215 lbs+ (didn’t get on the scale at my heaviest so I only know what I was after the first couple weeks) and now have my “happy range” between 150 – 155lbs.

    LOVE the video question/answer sessions!!!

For the woman who’s 5’10″, I am, too. But I’m only 36. My WW goal is 170 and my personal goal is 160. I stalled out at 169 while doing Atkins, and was quite happy — and felt great — at that weight.

Food for thought: Tyra Banks (who’s also 5’10″) was at 160 when the press was calling her “fat” in that bathing suit. I’d love to be 160!

  8. Giyen says:

Arlene, I know what you mean re: Tyra. I remember being in middle school thinking that I was fat @ 105 lbs. I am still about the same height but I weight a bit more than that.

My goal weight is 125 lb, but I am not tied to a number … I want to look as good as I’ve been feeling lately. I haven’t worn a swimsuit in years! I can’t wait.

Hey Roni! It’s Erin from the this week’s video. I did keep with the weight watchers plan and I am now on week 13. I’ve lost a total of 12lbs in 13 weeks and am very pleased with my progress. And actually, my family and I are all doing it together so it seems to help when you have others with you all working towards the same goals.

Thanks for attacking my question (and the questions of others). I think you hit all of the comments (in regards to my question) right on the head and I appreciate your perspective. Keep up the great work and enjoy you’re vacation!

I love this blog. The whole community is great. Arlene – I’m 5’10 too (and 33 years old). I was up to 211 but on my way back down – I’m 5 weeks into WW. I was 165 when I got married and thought that was good. But my goal is 159 – I think my head would explode to see something below 160. The lowest I’ve been is 135, but that was eons ago and too sickly skinny!!

I hated the whole Tyra fat thing! I mean REALLY???

Oh and have I mentioned I love Roni’s blog yet in this post???
