One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Too Much on My Plate

7 Comments 140 views

And no, I’m not talking about food. Actually, if I really think about the more I add to my “plate” the less I actually eat or I should say the easier it is to stay on plan.

Let me explain.

I always use the expression, “Off my plate” when referring to tasks/errands I need to get done. As in, “I’ll send out that email now and get it off my plate”. It’s just the way I work, I try not to procrastinate. I used the expression so much that at my last job it became my catch phrase and the other faculty members would always make fun of me. :~)

What’s on my plate right now? Well, besides the normal mom/wife duties…

  • I still have about 200 old posts to fix on the new site. Plus other small tweaks.
  • I have an ongoing project I’m working on with Johns Hopkins that requires 2 days in office a week.
  • My dog trainer client needs some help.
  • WeightView wants me to do some more work for them.
  • I NEED to find time to work on the cookbook. The design is done but now I have to gather the recipes and start putting together all the content.
  • I have a new blog project I really want to start for a new client.
  • I have a full inbox of questions and comments I really want to respond to.
  • Plus I want to continue to post here and work on food ideas for GreenLiteBites.

phew writing it all out made me more tired then actually doing everything! BUT for me, staying busy and having fun with the family is what it’s all about! I just feel happier and more in control when I have a ‘full plate’ of activities and goals. What’s that old saying about idle hands? ;~)

Right now? Well now? I’m going to enjoy a little ice cream and a watch some TV with the husband.

It’s all about balance, right?

OH! and I recorded a video tonight and it there was a little mishap, I’ll post it tomorrow on GreenLiteBites.

You are doing great! Look at the bright side…you could have nothing to do because business might not be going so well. Congrats, on being sucessful! Anyways it sounds like you need a glass of wine and a nice hot bath to relax :-)

Oh and I made your blackened tuna w/ mango salsa again last night. It is still a hit. Tonight is your lemon sage chicken packets and tomorrow night I think we are having the best recipe you ever made…the Lemon Garlic Shrimp Skewers….they are award winning! So GOOD. Good enough to make it into a recipe book. OH…maybe you could make a way for all of us to vote on recipes we would like to see in a cookbook. I can’t wait for the book to come out. I have a folder with print outs from your site. It will be nice to have something more permanant.

Keep up the good work! We appreciate it :-)

Christy – That’s a GREAT idea! I was thinking of doing a voting post and letting people tell me in the comments. I think I will! Thanks for the nudge!!

MizFit – YOU are such a role model for me and physical fitness!! :~) And ummm YEAH! I LOVE WIPEOUT! The husband and I missed the first 1/2 last night, which as we all know is the best part of the show. :~(

I’m with you on the busier I am the less I eat. I focus on food A LOT. Bad habit that is hard to break (thanks mom!) and when I don’t have the time to sit and ponder food which makes me hungry, I stay within my points a whole lot better. Good luck on getting it all done. I’m interested in the recipe book. :)

Roni, you’re such an inspiration. I’ve learned so much from you when it comes to blogging, juggling a bunch of projects, and good recipes. Plus, like you say, if you can do it, I can, too.

Please continue to share with us. You rock!

    Roni,
You go girl! Sounds like you’ve been really blessed (but busy). Delegate! One person only has two hands!

In my WW meeting today we were talking about motivating yourself through visualization of where you to want to be. I HAD to tell everyone about WeightView and I wished I had brought my transformed photo to show everyone. It’s such a great concept and I’m glad you are working with them. You are such a busy person! It’s really an inspiration that you juggle it all so well!
