New Week, New Menu, New Site
WOW! I can’t believe I’m doing this. Following in Microsoft’s footsteps, I present to you my new site, bugs and all. I’m about 70% done but decided to release it and have you help me find the errors. :~D
Why? Well, that’s how I roll. ;~P I needed something to motivate me and this was it. I haven’t been able to workout, my eating has been slightly out of control and I was desperate for a change. I redesigned the site, the food journal, and I feel like I have new lease on this whole weight maintenance thing.
OK, so here’s the deal. I’m still tiding up my old posts, WeightWatchen isn’t going any where soon, I’ll be leaving it up for archival purposes although I did move almost everything over. There is a new feed but those of you who subscribed via email will be transfered automatically.
*sigh* Well, that’s it for now. On the diet/food front, I’m starting a week in level 5 journaling. I really have been out of control and, to be honest, I haven’t been on the scale in weeks. I really need to weigh in. So I’m starting now, fresh. I don’t care that it’s not “Sunday”, or the 1st of the month, the year, or whatever other “start points” we tell ourselves we need. All that is bogus. I choose to start NOW. That’s why it was important for me to jump in head first and just DO IT! and you can do it too. The best time to do something is today! So why not? (Guess I’m wearing my motivating speech hat tonight) :~P

What's Cooking in my kitchen?

Finally my first Farro idea! I have to say, I love this stuff! It's chewy and yummy and, well, fun! I tossed it with what I could find in my pantry and it made a wonderfully satisfying lunch. Filling but not heavy, tasty and quite nutrient dense. According to NutritionData.com this [...] -
I've seen it mentioned in a few of my clean eating and healthy cook books but honestly, I never even thought of Farro as an option for me. I refuse to shop at specialty stores and I try to use only common products that I can keep in stock and purchase from a typical grocery [...] -
I've never had a tuna melt. Is that weird? I guess that's what happens when you grow up not liking mayonnaise. I never ate tuna salad or egg salad or chicken salad. Honestly, they always kind of grossed me out. Then I realized.. hey.. why does tuna salad have [...] -
I have no idea where this idea came from. I was hungry. It was lunch. I had Brussels Sprouts. That was all the catalyst I needed.:) I decided to use a slice of real bacon to add flavor and little fat that would help sauté the sprouts. I'm trying [...] -
WOW was this good. I mean seriously good. It's not vegetarian so don't start throwing stones. I'm calling it a Garden Vegetable Burger because I use the new Laughing Cow Smooth Sensations Garden Vegetable Cream Cheese Spread. It was this recipe on Allrecipes.com that inspired [...] -
I drink water 99.9% of the time but every so often it just doesn't cut it. I want something else. Something more. Something slightly sweet. Today was one of those days. I decided to make a refreshing drink based on the famous Arnold Palmer, half lemonade and half iced [...] -
The other day I made a whole chicken on the grill in pieces. It was delicious! Just a little BBQ sauce and an open flame is all I need to make The Husband happy in the dinner department. I also picked up a few ears of corn from the grocery store. They aren't in season [...] -
Let me explain so you don't think I'm making a chili recipe and just put it on pizza. I'm calling this vegetarian Chili Pizza because chili is what inspired flavors. I think I told you. Little Bean is really into, well, BEANS! We go through a can about every 2 days. Yesterday [...] -
I've confessed my inability to follow recipes here on GreenLiteBites many, many times. I don't know why it's so hard for me. I can barely follow some of my own and I wrote the darn things! I think most of my problem stems from not having all the ingredients listed and, [...] -
Leftover brown rice and leftover sauce meet in this quick lunch idea inspired by my favorite food of all time: Pizza. I swear I can turn anything into a pizza concoction. Have you seen all my pizza ideas? I've used everything from pumpkin to zucchini, polenta to wontons. Nothing is off [...] -
This isn't a recipe just an idea I had to share. I can't believe how good it was! I've never had grilled pineapple. Can you believe it? I just never really had the desire to grill it before. When you love something raw sometimes it doesn't occur to you to cook it. [...] -
I whipped this up for lunch on a whim today because, well, I have a baby who's obsessed with three things… Cheese, Beans, and Avocado. No, really. Look... It's my go to meal for him so I find myself with beans and avocado readily available. [...] -
You know that tradition 7 Layer Mexican Dip? The one with the cream cheese, guacamole, salsa, lettuce, cheese, green onion and olives? Yea. That's the one. Well I had a craving for it the other day. Well, not exactly for it as I can never make anything the way it's suppose [...] -
If you go through the archives of GreenLiteBites I have about 5 total beef recipes. Five. Compare that to the 80+ I have tagged with chicken/turkey there's a clear winner in the meat department on my blog and in my home. I don't have a beef with beef (omg The Husband [...] -
I'm a kitchen sink smoothie maker. Whatever I have on hand goes in the blender and viola! A quick breakfast or a healthy snack. Last year I posted an "Elastic Approach" to how I make smoothies but I still like to share specific combinations that worked really well. This was one [...] -
The other night it was just the kids and I home for dinner and I decided to make what I wanted to make no holds barred. Without The Husband home it's much easier for some reason. Hmmm wonder why? Ok, not here to husband bash.. really.. I'm not! I'm here [...] -
*sigh* I was really hoping to share an awesome turkey burger idea. I had grand plans for my leftover ground turkey. The results was alright but they could have been so much better. I added diced pineapple, red pepper, green pepper, oats and soy sauce to the meat and formed 2 patties. In hindsight I [...] -
I made this on a total whim yesterday having no idea if it would work. To my surprise it did AND the husband actually said he liked it... UNSOLICITED! Here's the story. I had only 4 tilapia fillets defrosted for dinner. I knew it wasn't going to be enough for us [...] -
This is a slight reboot of a recipe I posted last year simply called Sweet Potato and Black Bean Chili. Staying true to my use-what-I-have-on-hand roots I, well, used what I had on hand and made a similar dish with a spicy twist. Topping the result with avocado added a cool creaminess that [...] -
Did you hear? The Laughing Cow recently launched Smooth Sensations a line of 5 cream cheese spreads. There's Classic Cream, Classic Cream Light, Strawberries & Cream, Garden Vegetable and my favorite… Cinnamon. It's a sweet wedge of creamy goodness! Today I decided to use my new favorite flavor [...] -
Confession time, I recorded a 30 minute video making this with both kids (partally) 2 nights ago. I miss videos. I really do but they seem so much more difficult with 2 children. I'm also having technical difficulties with my video recording and audio syncing making it VERY time consuming to edit. [...] -
A couple of years ago I shared a modified version of Sloppy Joe's I made for a party. Everyone loved it but I've been wanting to try to make something similar for the family on a smaller scale and without the pre-made canned Manwich sauce. I don't particularly have any issues [...] -
Yesterday I was dreaming about a salad. Not just any salad, but a chickpea filled, cucumber, and red onion salad with a fun, tangy dressing. Unfortunately, I had no cucumber or red onion. Well, that's a lie. I had a half of cucumber but it was a mushy mess and [...] -
Dinner meals are getting harder and harder for me to share lately. I've gone back to just whipping things up without really measuring anything (this meal was going to be one of those until I realized I still had enough light to take some photos.) I've also instituted a few brainless meal nights [...] -
Three years ago I posted a video called "Makin' Hard Boiled Eggs" where I shared my system for, well... making hard boiled eggs. Genius name, I know. I'm smart like that. Anyway, since then I've gotten tons of feedback and comments thanking me but all the information is locked in a long winded 10 minute [...]

Yay! I think I might be your first comment on the new site!!! I visit a lot, but I don’t really have time to comment like I’d liketo b/c I’m so busy with grad school. Well, tonight I was making a shopping list for Trader Joe’s so I can make a few of your recipes and violá, your new post popped up.
Site looks great at first glance, and I can’t wait to look around! Thanks so much for all your insightful tips and sharing your story. You help me get through my plateaus (and believe me, there are MANY haha)
Looking forward to those banana pancakes! :)
The website looks great, Roni! It is very soothing to the eyes…:)
Gina
I really like your new site! Very nice layout!!
I LOVE the new site!! I’m so glad you decided to go ahead and launch it!
I love the new site! Great design, fresh and easy on the eyes. Nothing like a virtual makeover to give you a real life boost, I reckon :)
The new site looks great, Roni! Congrats on making the move. :)
Congratulations! Looks great!
Hi Roni. The siste looks great. As always, you’re doing a great job and are a constant motivation for others. Good luck with the site!!
Roni, love your site… you go, girl! And, you are taking us all along with you!
Thanks for the inspiration, fun, and good news.
love the new look – but MISS the progress photos across the top – I LOVE those.
Thanks SO much guys. I’m really proud of it even though I still have a long way to go!!
Vickie,
They’re still there! I just reversed the order and put them on a link to the right and you can get to them from the before & after photos as well.
The reason, well, I’m not losing anymore so I though the comparison would be more relevant then a progression during weight loss that was 2 years ago.
Hmmmm I do have room up there though. I could add the link. I’ll have to think about it. :~)
Here’s the link… http://ronisweigh.com/ronis-updates/progression-photos
GREAT makeover, Roni! I love it. Hope you’re feeling well and recovering nicely :)
I really love the new site. I do miss the link to GreenLiteBites at the top though.
(*balances a tray laden with one and two point snacks*)
Im here for the blog launch party.
anyone need a hat? confetti? Ive got enough for all of us!

Lookin’ good. I like the new site, but, being a creature of habit, it’ll take me some time to get used to it. (I liked the old one, too!) I especially like the GLB recipes down the right side of the page.
Typed in the wrong Web address in my first comment. Oops.
Roni, love the new site – just found your sites a few weeks ago and have been following them ever since. They are great and have helped motivate me to take some steps forward (a 30 day mini challenge and some journaling). Can’t wait to see what you come up next.
Super cute new page Roni! It looks more clean-cut and it is still user friendly! Nice job :)
love the new site. I visit everyday I have your website added to all my online feeds. You motivate me when I can’t seem to do it anymore. Your an inspiration.
Roni-Beautiful layout and colors! Great job on it, and I sincerely thank you for the lift I get daily when I see your story. I do have one question, though: Why the ads for Chinese fat reduction product, etc., that I sometimes see? Do you endorse and use all the “products” your site advertises?? Does this keep your site going? I DO LOVE the vitalicious muffins you link to … just curious how it all works … -Amy
Roni, I love the new site. The colors are really nice, and everything seems so well-organized. You are a web-design goddess! I can’t wait to dig a little deeper.
BTW, good luck with getting back on track (new plan, etc). I’m sure it has been tough being off your usual routine (surgery, new projects, and other stuff). It won’t be long before you’re in the groove again.
roni i LOVE your blog you inspired me to create one, but i’m just starting and i’m not good at creating web pages lol.
i miss your progress pictures too! the change is awesome keep it up girl :D
i always tell myself that there is no “Monday” in life style. it’s not a diet, it’s a life style.
Good for you Roni! And, I’m talking about both the new web-site and your decision to resume the WW! “Now” is always the best time to start something new! Good luck with that, congratulations and I STILL look forward to your inspiring blogs. I hope you realize how much you have helped so many of us stay motivated. Thank you for always being where we can find you. Even if you have moved around a bit! LOL
Tammy, who hope she is no longer anonymous with her comments…….
Yay! I’m no longer anonymous! LOL Little things thrill me!
I love your new site. I subscribe to several blogs of WWer’s. They help me on my journey. Yours is the first one I signed up for. Changing over was a little work for me. Since I was already signed up on the original site I had to go and do several things. It would have not been hard if I had not switched my password over from their password to one I know. Now I am here. Really like the calm colors.
Keep up the good work!

Love the new site Roni and I think you are just fab too! Have been having a great time today (when I should be working!) enjoying http://greenlitebites.com/
The videos are great fun and you seem like a really wonderful mother. God, sorry if I sound a bit over the top, I just really admire you and I guess down the road I’d love/hope to be able to be even a small bit of the person that you’ve become through your journey. Go you!
LOVING the new site!!! It’s so clean and crisp and NEW! Haha…got to love new things. I can’t wait to go exploring!!! But so far, so GREAT! :)
Congrats on the launch of the new site—it looks good!!
Roni,
You really are amazing at creating these websights, you have found one of your callings. Notice I said ONE, you have many girl.
Keep up all your hard work you really inspire me each and every day.
Your Canadian Buddy
Christine ( Bootcamp Girl )
Sorry, late on these…
Amy, this is a great question. Currently I use google for my ads and they choose the ads based on content. They are the only “unaprooved ads” I guess you can say. All posts I make are honest opinions and I plan on integrating the BlogHerAd network again if they approve me. Which will serve better suited ads and replace the top google spot.
Thanks for the question!
Anna – The progress pictures are back! :~)
Tammy – That’s one of the reasons I wanted to upgrade. Better comment system!! :~)
Everyone – THANKS!!
Love the new site and look! :)
I love your new site! You are such an inspiration to me……and so many others. I just want to say thank you!!
I bookmarked your new site on my computer, but it seems stuck on the
July 5 date. Am I doing something wrong?
Nellie
Hi Nellie,
You probably bookmarked that particular post and not the site. I’d navigate to http://ronisweigh.com and without clicking on anything, add the bookmark. This was it’s guaranteed that you have the main page. Does that make sense?
Hope it helps!
