Shopping the other day I was thirsty and hungry, NOT a good combination at the grocery store. While perusing the dairy section I saw a shelf full of these yellow smoothie bottles. Normally I’m very hesitant with smoothie products. They are usually a waste of calories that I’d rather use on real, "chewed" food. But something made me pick one up and look at the nutritional information. What I see surprises me, 90 calories, .5 g of fat and 5g of fiber for the 8.5 oz Lightfull Chocolate Smoothie chocolate smoothie. This I have to try!

So I picked up one chocolate and cracked it open in the car. My first sip left something to be desired. It had that artifically sweetened taste. So I looked at the ingredients and noticed the only 2 sweeteners were Erythritol and cane sugar. Then I took another sip, and another. It was good! Is it possible that each sip was better then the last? I know that sounds strange but seriously after the first sip I really enjoyed it. And it did hold me over until my next meal.

I’m not sure I’ll buy it again because I’m not a prepackaged smoothie kind of girl, but coming in at 1 point I had to let you’ll know about it. Unless, that is, you already knew? Sometimes I’m late to the party with these things. :~P I’ve only tried the chocolate anyone want to weigh in on the other flavors?

I’ve tried the peach and boy!, it was tasty. It definitely held me over and I was satisfied with that little bottle as a snack. The drawback I felt was that I bought it at a specialty, organic store (which I don’t frequent too often) and the bottles from what I recall were pretty pricey.

I want to try the mocha flavored on – glad to hear they are good though!

these sound good! I like chewed food, too, but for something quick and easy for the on the go mornings in the car – this seems doable. :) I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for it.

I have tried these also, and I LOVED them. What I didn’t love though, was the price tag! Those little things are expensive! I would defintely buy maybe one a week though.

They have them at Wegman’s here in Maryland. They probably have them at other grocery stores too, but I haven’t looked.

I tried a mango one and it was really good. Not sure if I would buy it again as I prefer “real food”. Plus it was pretty pricey for that little bottle… But, they would be great if you need something quick and don’t have many healthy options.
