I THREW IT AWAY!! - A Sensational Sunday in the Works!
May 25, 2008
I don’t like to waste food but we had pizza leftover from the babysitter last night and it’s been calling me all morning. I took a look at it, thought about how crappy I feel becuase I ate too much yesterday and then said,
"NOPE! Totally NOT worth it!! Time to get back on track, today is a new day!"
I have to confess this decision took about an hour. Can you believe that? I was consumed with the thought of that pizza for that long. What is wrong with me?
Instead I split a healthy breakfast with the toddler. We had an orange, dry Frosted Mini-Wheats and yogurt. I feel SO MUCH BETTER and ready to face the day.
This morning I’m off to Lowes to get garden supplies. I’m taking my hand at a real garden in the GROUND not just tomato and pepper plants in pots. This is a big step for this garden immigrant!
Then it’s off to a party this afternoon and I’m planning a run this evening.
So raise up your water glass *ting* here’s to a Sensational Sunday!

Congratulations Roni!! I have spent “many” hours deliberating on whether to eat something or not. I can honestly say EVERY time I have chosen to say NO I haven’t regretted it. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!

Good job… good luck on the garden. I am planting this week as well since school is off. I did it two years ago- the baby loved playing in the dirt! (she was almost 1 but was running by then) I had wonderful tomatoes, okra, squash and a couple cantalope. We have terrible squash bugs– so prepare for them or every thing will be gone quick. The winter squash, pumpkins, watermelon, zuchinni and yellow squash were distroyed. I was sad. I am ready this year.

Hey Roni, I LOVE pizza also. I have been looking for a good veggie pizza for a long time. I was at Walmart and found Tombstone light veggie pizza. It was really good and about 1/2 of the points of a regular peice of cheese pizza.

Roni,
Have you ever read the book “Fed Up!”. I think you could find the answer to why the decision to throw away the pizza took you an hour. I would love to hear your comments on this book.

That is one way of making your self out of temptation , eating pizza is really not good for us mommy. Just try to limit but not too much.

Well done you - leftovers are one of my biggest problems. I hate seeing food wasted and I tend to hoover up any left over food especially stuff my children don’t eat. I have decided that I would rather throw it away than pile on the pounds.

Fantastic! I know how much of a milestone that is…I still can’t be trusted around pizza because I just can’t NOT finish it. Congrats!!!!
Incidentally, isn’t it weird that it feels so good to be healthy, and yet that feeling is lost so quickly in the face of temptation? There are so many days when I know if I just started off healthy how much better physically and mentally I would feel and yet I give in to a donut that makes me feel like crap.

Wow, good for you, I’m sure that was NOT and easy decision. I’ve done the same thing on a much smaller scale at work with cookies or bread. It is a hard decision.I always feel bad for wasting food yet better for not having it in front of me. I know how you love pizza so that is a HUGE NSV for you. Hope the rest of your day was just as sensational!

Sometimes those “thoughts of food” can get into your head and will not give you peace. You were wise to throw it away…better that than throwing away your good efforts at eating better!

I read somewhere that we agonoze over wasting food by throwing it away, but if we eat it when we don’t need it that’s still wasting it. That logic has helped me throw out many leftovers!
