You know spring has sprung when you…

Date April 10, 2008

  • eat your lunch outside while talking to a good friend on the cell phone instead of at your office desk reading your emails.
  • come home and change into a t-shirt that you had to pull out of summer clothes storage.
  • play in the sandbox with the toddler.
  • fire up the grill, pull out burgers and cook outside for the first time in months.
  • skip the gym for a L-O-N-G after dinner family walk.

Just thinking about the day makes me smile.  :~)  Man, I LOVE spring/summer. Sometimes I wonder why I don’t live in a warmer climate.

  1. If it gets a bit warmer, I can start biking to work, and I don’t have to pay for heating. Those are two positives.

But jackets/hoodies make me look goooooood. And I can wear them every single day without complaint. I’m not ready to give that up.

  2. So jealous!! Spring has officially come, but it’s been rainy ever since. We have so many garden projects to take care of, but we need to wait for the sun!

I went for a long walk after dinner with my dogs, but still had to bundle up in my running tights, pants, tshirt, long sleeved shirt, hoodie, AND beanie!

I also just got a new job pretty close to home, and I will be walking to work starting next week! Rain Rain Go Away!

  3. Im so with you on the gymskippage in favor for a walk.

that coupled with it being light later at night makes my **smile**

    M.

(email me if youd ever wanna do a Guest Chef slot. Id love to have you!)

  4. I am not able to get into Lynn’s Weight Loss Journey (the lady that was on Oprah). I saved her to favorites – so I know it is not a typo – it just tells me that “oops we can’t find that page.

do you know??? are you having the same problem?

  5. If you lived in a warmer climate, you wouldn’t have the wonders of spring! I wouldn’t change where I live for all the money in the world.

  6. Sounds so nice. I can’t wait ’til for t-shirt weather!
    Enjoy!! :)

  7. That’s why I love living in the south…although I would love some colder weather through the winter.

I also looovee the family walks. The kids love being outside when the weather is wonderful. :)

  8. I know what you mean….the change in seasons is always nice. I’ve never been a huge summer fan (can’t take the humidity here on the East Coast!), but pop my butt on the beach or by the pool and it’s great! I guess with having lost weight the heat may not be as big an issue as it’s been in the past. I think you mind it more when you are more overweight…what do you think?

    Michele

  9. Okay….I am with ya on the weather thing. I live in Iowa and it is currently SNOWING!!!! Why, I ask, do I live here??? But my conclusion is…… I don’t think that I would appreciate spring if I lived somewhere warm. It kills me to look at my garden covered in snow. I just can’t wait to run my fingers through that soil, pick asparagus and raspberries and rhubarb. mmmmmm Had to get that off my chest. I am sooooo with you on SPRING!

  10. I LOVE spring, and I wouldn’t live in the warm-all-year climates for love nor money….well, unless my boys and my grandchildren moved there anyway…tehehehe.

michelle–I’m with you. I don’t think the heat will bother me this summer after a 67.6 pound (so far) weight loss, like it did last summer. I froze all winter…had to wear long underwear!

  11. I promise you if you moved to a warm climate you wouldn’t like it!!

At least in Houston – its never warm, it’s HOT and muggy. I laughed at your post cause you had a summer clothes box! We pretty much wear shorts/tees/flip flops year round here!

  12. I long for you oh dear spring… I live in southwestern Colorado and we have had over 3 feet of snow in the last two days. Yes, I said 3 feet. All the great melting that occurred last week is now just a distant memory. Even mountain passes near us are closed. I swear, I’m moving to Death Valley…

  13. I can’t wait until it gets warmer by us…Just wanted to drop by and say hello. I just posted finally…have you been watching biggest loser? Are you ready for the finale? have a GREAT weekend

  14. You sound so happy! Have a great weekend!

Oh and I think these word verifications are out for me… Why do they always mesh together? Hello is that a db or cb? grrrr

  15. MizFit – In a couple of weeks my schedule will open up and then I’m all for it!

Vickie – She changed her address http://lynnsweigh.blogspot.com/

As for the heat, you guys are right. The cold months makes the warmer months even better! As for weight and I’m heat I’m sure it affects some but I’ve always liked it hot!

And biggest loser, yeah I cried my eyes out last week. Looking forward to finale.
