One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Early to Bed, Early to Rise…

…makes Roni stop snacking before bed!

I’ve been staying up late, WAY too late and it seems that’s when I lose all control. I’ve snacked my way out of many a good day and I’m tired of it. Literally.  I’m making an effort to get to bed early all this week (that may mean shorter posts) but I have to change something up and get out of this snacking cycle.

Speaking of snacking, Andrew from Linda’s Diet Delites emailed and asked if I’d be willing to try a new product they have coming in, Chocolite Peanut Butter Cup Patties. All I have to say is Oh My WORD! They reminded me so much of the homemade chocolate peanut butter eggs my mother-in-law brings on Easter. The chocolate was delish, the peanut butter filling was dry and crumbly. It was just perfect!  Now you’re curious about the nutritional information, aren’t you?. Well, I was surprised to find out that each peanut butter cup patty is only 40 calories, 3g fat with 6g of fiber.  That’s 1 point for 2! If you are interested in trying them, you can get a free sample from Linda’s Diet Delites if you place a $30 order. Unfortunately, it’s the only way to get your hands on them as they aren’t available for sale yet.

Other Sunday news, I had an amazing workout this morning. An hour Cardio Blast class and a medium inclined wall climb. I even added an extra riser to my step and boy, am I feeling it now! I’m also considering signing up for a local 5K race in my area. I’ll never take it seriously and start running unless I sign up.

Ok, sorry for the disjointed post. I told you, I’m tired and I need to go to bed! I’m not sure I’ll even stay up for Dexter! And I NEVER miss Dexter. :~P

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

You had a great day OP! Good job. I hope those peanut butter goodies can be shipped to military addresses overseas…I cannot wait to try them. This week I am having two of your creations: Tortilla-less soup and your spicy black bean & zuchini taco filling.

I both need to plan for it and make smarter choices or in no times Ive gained weight.
(Im sure youve thought of all my ideas—but if you want me to email/post a comment with them let me know!)

and what DOES NOT work for me :) is the “keep your hands busy” suggestion (Im not a knitter but a tv watcher or reader) OR the “brush your teeth” notion as im happy to rebrush!

I definitely know you can do the 5k! (lemmie know if I can be of any help in that arena as well)

    cheering you on from TX,

You might like the chocolate almond milk. I dont mind soy milk, but the almond milk doesnt have the aftertaste that soy does. I have been able to find it in regular grocery stores as well (Albertsons).

Hey Roni – first I love your blog and you were my inspiration to start blogging and join a gym……funny how we discover great things about ourselves through admiring others!

I just wanted to mention that the Chocolite products have been around forever and they actually have a website that sells all of their products. Their protein bars are incredible and come in at around 1 to 2 points a piece. The “Triple Chocolate Fudge” bar is my fave and it is 95 calories w/10 grams of fiber and 9 grams of protein – it’s like a nutritious, filling candy bar!! They also have various candies – such turtles, crispy carmels, peanut clusters…..they all come in a package of 2 with the calories for each candy coming in at 30 calories. The milk shake mixes are to die for too. The website is

I’m not trying to rain on anyone’s parade but the people at healthsmart are wonderful, shipping is fast and the cost of the bars is $1.49 a piece as opposed to a $1.99.

Thanks for always giving us great ideas, great recipes and for just ROCKING it!!
