  1. thats so great that you did the medium wall! way to go, thats awesome. I wanted to ask you what do you eat when you get chinese food? I always have trouble picking because everything is pointy. I eat offten because the husband is a big fan.

  2. how much did you brighten MY MORNING just with that upbeat title!

    signed,
MizFit who can not wait until her tornado is a movie watcher, too.

(I echo sabrina with the chinese food question? Im a steamed chicken or shrimp and veggies woman. no sauce and I spritz on the BRAGGS at home)

  3. Good morning guys!

Now, normally my go to Chinese is steamed chicken (and/or shrimp) and mixed veggies with my homemade dipping sauce. (soy sauce, ground ginger, ground red pepper and a bit of sweetener)

Last night I just ate the sushi and a bit of the husbands fried rice and chicken and broccoli.

I’ve also been known to order some of the chef specialties (anything on menu that’s not breaded really) steamed with the sauce on the side. This way they skip the oil in the cooking process. The look at me funny but they always do it!

  4. Hi Roni,

I just wanted to respond to your fitness regimen and resultant weight gain. I joke that I’ve lost 50lbs. half of the year, and 42 the other half. When I’m in hard training for triathlon season, I can guarantee at least an 8-pound weight gain. I set my goal weight with WW to accommodate this. And it is weight, not muscle, that I gain. But dang, girl, I’m hungry, and I mean HUNGRY. I happily (well, ok, not that happily) put on those pounds to reach my peak fitness. I’ve recently been set back by pneumonia, several complications, and a 12-day hospital visit, this right in the middle of hard training for the season, which begins in early May. As a result, I’ve lost nearly 18 lbs. and I feel lousy (and, if you ask me, look lousy, too). I have no muscles, no muscle tone, my skin is baggy, and so are my clothes. Again, happily would I put that weight back to be at the top of my game. Follow your own good advice: it’s not always about the scale or the pounds, but how you feel. I think it’s great that you’ve become “that girl” as you said in one of those pithy posts of yours. Being fit and feeling good about scaling that wall is more important than a random 140.

  5. Roni – I am enjoying your posts so much. I’ve been tinkering around with your recipes and so far they all are a hit…wanted to say that your Big Simple Chocolate Cupcakes are not only Toddler Approved, but they are also Teenager Approved and Co-Worker Approved! Made them last night and she had them for breakfast with some milk, and two of my co-workers tried them today and asked for the recipe!! Do you think that recipe will work for other cake flavors? I’m thinking of all sorts of ideas for that one…

  6. Great comment anonymous! I wish I wasn’t so dependent on that scale. I was reading in “Health” magazine today that a guy would much prefer to date a woman that was willing to eat like she wasn’t watching the scale….but…(always the but) never gained or lost much weight. Hmmmmm not sure how that works. I guess that is how I got overweight in the first place….eating like I wasn’t watchin the scale. I just thought it was a funny thing to print. Anyway, I feel like I have to be in check with the scale to keep me accountable. Even if I know that I have my period, or am training for another triathalon. LOL I love to be driven….and for some reason the scale drives me.?

  7. Sounds like a very productive day! After a brief hiatus I am getting back on track to lose my last pounds before the BIG b-day. I had a great day today eating all my veggies…wahoo and I walked my butt off on the treadmill last night and it is on my plans for tonight too. I will be around here more often to get some recipe ideas. Thanks for being such a great resource!!
